Sharuk's POV:

I saw her as she fell to the ground, clutching her back.

What just happen?

Visailis had an award-winning smile, thinking about his latest triumph. I wanted to save Alia, but my legs were stuck to the ground. He looked at me, as if challenging me to save her. I ran and kicked him in the belly, mid-air. My muscle power gave me an advantage over his height. The knife rolled away when he crashed on the ground next to her bed and the guards came rushing in, hearing the sound. They took Alia to the infirmary to treat her as blood pooled around her, unconscious body. I boiled with rage when he pounced at me, thinking he could take me down in a punch.

Oh No, I didn't defeat your previous King, but it took him a while to knock me down.

Successfully I dodged the punch that was thrown at my face and gave him a heel-palm-chin strike, while pulling him towards me with the other hand.

*THOMP*

HA! I guess he had a glass chin.

Could I BE anymore powerful?

I lifted him up by pulling his right hand and crouched down to his eye level. His eyes were blurry. Maybe it's the impact on his chin-which is one of the vulnerable part on the human body.

"What did you do to her? And WHY?" I couldn't contain the anger anymore.

"She deserved it."

"Deserved? Can I talk about what you deserve? Death! By me!"

And then, I punched him right on his face, aiming for nose. There was a crack when my hand came in contact with his now-broken nose. I was fuming.

"How-punch-Could-punch-You-punch-Do-punch-This-punch-To-punch-h-"

"SHARUK!"

That's when I was brought back, as Shanaya called my name. I didn't know what I was doing, but all I felt was the urge to kill this BASTARD-Visailis.

"Do you know what happened to Alia?"

"Yes, I just came from the infirmary."

I dropped him on the ground and gave my full attention to Shanaya.

"And? What did the Giatros say?"

"They said she isn't responding to any of the medicines-till now. Maybe she might in about few minutes, or hours, or days, or months...."

"What?"

"He also says she might not even respond. But they've managed to stop the bleeding. Stitched her up and made sure that the stitches wouldn't catch any kind of infection."

My heart broke into pieces. How can such a tragedy befall on her? How will she return to the present when the time comes? It's not like she's going to stay.

"You! Why did you try to kill her?"

**********************************************************

The pendant.

The coin.

The fall.

The Fish-skin.

It all made sense now. How cruel can those people be? I promised I wouldn't let anything happen to her. This guy in front of me made me break my promise. He has to face the punishment for that, and I'll make sure he gets the worst part of it.

Anastasia entered the room, bewildered. Her face morphed into an undescribable emotion when she took in the scene in front of us.

A bloody curtain that was half way torn, fruit bowl with no fruits as they were spilled across the floor, a knife stuck on the royal cream wall, a lot of blood pooled around the bed and to finish it- Visailis on the floor with a broken nose, disheveled face, AND my bloody knuckles.

She ran to my side and inspected my knuckles, immediately, when she noticed I was bleeding as well.

"What have you done, Sha?"

"It had to be done, Ana. She was my best friend and family. Nobody messes with my best friend and survives."

"But you didn't have to hurt yourself or make a mess."

"I'm sorry."

And then I asked the guards to take Visailis to the dungeons. They also informed me that Azarius has already been captured and was rotting in there.

A water cell is a kind of prison cell that's made up of heavy stones. The prisoner will be dropped inside and has to stand naked, hands and legs- chained; when baby Dentex fishes are poured into the pot. It's one of the cruel way to punish someone-alive, or at least in this time period.

"Take him to the water prison, instead of dungeons."

I order them and got back to the throne room to take care of the other businesses that should be done in Alia's absence. It worried me so much that I couldn't be there for her. Also, because she thought to save us all and ended up being bedridden. I saw Shanaya from my peripheral vision as she stood next to me when I was checking for the list of the prisoners and their punishment, to find some horrible ones for both of them who betrayed their own queen.

"I know you are hurt Sharuk and so am I. But we can't do anything right now except to help her sustain the vitals when she's like this...."

Shanaya trailed off, not know what to say exactly.

"Shanaya, it's alright. It was my mistake and you don't need to feel guilty-but of course, you will, because that's the bonding we all have. It doesn't matter right now. All I can think about is to punish them and make them pay for what they did to Alia."

"Yes, but what about the evening court?"

"Damn it. I totally forgot about that. How are we gonna say the news to people?"

"I don't know. How are they going to react? Maybe the senate will try to recapture their dominance, now that sh's gone."

"We shouldn't let that happen."

I was so sure about that. But how?

"How about either of us take control, or make someone as the acting reign?" Shanaya gave an excellent idea. But the rules in here act differently and we should find a loophole if that doesn't happen.

"We'll think about it on our way to the courtroom, come."
