Sharuk's POV:

It has been more than half a day since Alia left us to inquire about the pendant and the coin. It worried me so much that she wasn't taking the news well. The news about our fatal condition. We haven't informed our friends about it yet just because we don't know how they are going to react to it. But whatever it is, I'm damn sure about living in this period, only for Anastasia.

She's one in a million, like how we used to say this phrase for even some worthless people in our lives. But this time, I mean it for real. If my death is the price that I'll have to pay, for living in the past, I'll take it. I don't want to go back and leave her behind.

But the thing that worries me more is about Alia. The stress she holds on her shoulder just to keep us safe and alive. I don't know this for sure, but I think- I think, maybe she has the fish-skin too, and I don't know why she's hiding it from us, with whom she shares everything.

She got even more stressed when Zoya, Rudra, and Dashk joined us. It just doesn't make any sense. How can someone time travel with a coin or a pendant and also end up in the same freaking place?

She informed us that she will go to meet Anastasia's dad and her grandfather. I hope the meet went well.

It was getting late evening and there was no sign of Alia, so I left my friends to check for her.

I went to Ana's home, but they weren't there. So I decided to go around.

The market had people rushing here and there, trying to make their living or getting something for them. The trades were going really well and all the town members were happy under Alia's rule. As I walked past the trading place, a small boy came running towards me.

I watched him intently before remembering that he was the guy whom Shanaya and Alia met when we first landed in here.

He also introduced himself the other day when Visailis was punished for his crime.

Myron. I think that's his name.

He came to a stop and took deep breaths when he reached me.

I tapped on his shoulder as an act of appraisal and said,

"Calm down Myron, calm down. It's OK, I'm not going anywhere. What is it that you wanted to say or ask?"

"Alia-panting-Alia-panting-Alia.- "

"Wait, take a deep breath before you talk, okay?"

I smiled down at him, realising how cute he was with the curly black hair and blue eyes.

"Alia, she is in danger."

"What-what do you mean she is in danger?"

"Yes, I just heard someone say 'that she has the fish skin which means she'll be dead soon' ."

"I don't understand what you are talking about."

"I heard someone say that they are going to discuss it over the Senate member's meeting. Go save her before any such thing happens !!!"

I don't know if I should consider this as a threat to her or if he was pranking me of some sort.

I stared at him blankly and couldn't move my legs. I kept on wondering if this was even real.

"What are you still looking at? Go on, save her!!"

And then I started raced back.

As soon as I reached the castle, I directly went for her chamber but she wasn't there. I was looking for my friends and saw them along with Shanaya at the garden where everyone was playing. Everyone but Alia.

I went down to the garden and asked if they saw her.

But none has seen her since this morning.

Oh my God, was he actually saying the truth. I hope nothing happens to her. Oh my God, please don't let anything happen to her.

I searched the throne room.

Nothing.

I went to the courtroom to see if she was there. Thank God she was sitting there on the throne right in front of me, in all her glory.

I gave a sad smile when I entered the courtroom and took my seat beside her. I will not leave her side, ever.

"What happened Sharuk? Why do you look like you saw a ghost?"

"Yeah, I'm seeing one right in front of me."

"Whatever."

It never gets boring to annoy your best friend, doesn't it?

And the court went on and on for ages. When it was over, she asked me to get the list of trades that took place for the day and told me to meet her in the chamber. Seems like she had something important to share.

Um... Maybe it has something to do with the fish-skin?

I informed I would be right behind her as I went to get the list from Beryl, who was responsible to collect them.

I made sure Beryl had all the list of traders and then I proceeded to Alia's chamber.
