"We want Justice! We want Justice! We want Justice!!"
People were asking for justice just outside the castle gate.
"Everyone who's present in here. Did you know that there are people present outside the castle-wanting justice for what happened to Alia?"
Some nodded their heads and others looked at each other-wondering what happened to her. I guess, 'the other' people didn't know the news.
"For people who wonder what happened to her-let's just say she was betrayed by her own senate member who chose to kill her because of two reasons. The reforms were not to his advantage and also because he was publicly humiliated. It's none other than Visailis."
Most people gasped, and some were quite-knowing the news already.
"So, what punishment can we serve him? Let's hear the opinions of the crowd. We need to decide fast enough to let the civilians know that justice will be served for what happened to Alia."
"Let's burn him!" Someone from the crowd roared.
"Yes!" Another cheerful support to the previous statement.
"It wasn't just Visailis, there was another person who had a hand in the matter. Azarius."
I expected people to be surprised , but there were no such reactions. I looked at Shanaya and even she held the confused expression, just like mine.
"What is it?"
"Sorry Sharuk, but we expected this from him. Because he was the one who started the rumor about our Queen, having fish-skin."
What? Shanaya's fists tightened with rage, knowing he betrayed us all. I don't know whom to believe anymore. I thought it was Visailis the whole time, but guess what? Azarius was a snake in the sheep's skin. Maybe we have to enquire them both simultaneously in order to understand what is happening exactly.
"How many of you knew about the fish-skin?"
I watched everyone as they put their head down, not wanting to admit they've known about it all along.
How come I was the only one to know about it in the last.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING!?"
My voice reverberated through the courtroom when the senators flinched at the power that radiated through me. I never knew this day might come- a day when people flinch just by hearing my voice. But here we are, in an ancient mystical land that I've just read about.
I made my way to the Minister of health and medicine, who sat right next to the left of throne.
"Did you know about it earlier?"
He nodded.
I moved on to the second one, Minister of Northern-Trade of Mycenaean territory.
"Did you know about it?"
He didn't even dare to look at me.
This is fucked-up. Entirely fucked-up. How did she even believe these people who knew about it but never said or asked anything?
They didn't even care to check if she was alright.
They didn't even care to see if she needed some medication.
They didn't even care for their own Queen who wanted to make their lives better.
I got back to my place to the right of the throne. Shanaya whispered my name as soon as I took my seat.
