Little Dreams and Hollow Nightmares

Okay everyone, I just need to say this.

This story started out just as an idea. Just a little, "Hey! Hollow Knight and Little Nightmares have similar themes! What if someone made a crossover about them?" I didn't see anyone else making something like that, so I decided, "Y'know what? Why not? Besides, how hard could it be?"

Boy was I wrong.

It started out fun, with constant chapters, and rapid updates, and I found it very fun to write about this. But as time went on, things started interrupting the story, and I found it harder and harder to write this story.

To tell the truth, Phase 1 Chapter 24 was supposed to be the last chapter I would ever write in this story, but then I saw the support. I saw how many people were reading this story, and how encouraging and supportive they were.

So I came back. I kept writing with a newfound motivation. On my profile, I say I write stories just because they give me joy in writing them. That was no longer the case for this story. I was writing it for the people reading it. Every time I left, I would always come back to new votes, increasing reads, and multiple comments of positive feedback.

Every time I left, I would always come back. I would push myself to get chapters done on a somewhat daily basis, and make each one exciting, and thrilling to read. I poured my heart and soul into the characters and their relationships with their respective partners in their phases, into the plots and motivations, and into details that made each phase stay true to the games.

All of this work.

All of this struggle.

All of this story.

Not for me.

But all for you.

That is why I'm making this announcement.

After all this time, and effort, I need a break.

I know this news might be sudden, but I need time to myself. I have worked on this story for just about half a year now, and I need some time off. I want to try new things, and new styles. This story is fun to write, and I will not be giving up on it, I just need time to try new things.

Before I end this, I just want to say...

Thank you for making it this far with me. I'll see you soon on the road ahead.

Hey, is it just me, or is there someone outside my door?

*Door smashes open*

HOLY MOTHER OF-

Six: Don't you DARE stop now! I've waited over half a year to appear in this, and I'm not going to wait another!

Mono: Six, I said we should tell it to him in a nice, relaxed tone, not force him into it by holding a shovel to his throat!

WHAT IS GOING ON?!!???!!!??

Hornet: Apologies, but we just really wanted to convince you to not give up. You're doing such a great job already, and you even wrote down your plans for phase 3. Don't you think it's a little much to leave those plans behind?

Seven: Besides, you've had better ideas for phase 3 than you did in my phase. You've waited so long to write it, and now you can! Come on! Don't give up now!

The knight(written on paper): Everyone has your back on this story remember? You have so much support from everyone reading this, that even when you fall down, they'll be there to help you up. Don't you think you owe it to them to keep going?

Well, when you put it that way.....

Oh screw it, I don't have anything else to write, and this story is way too fun to put down.

Everyone: YAY!

Okay, get out of my room now, I've got work to do.

*Everyone else leaves*

*Sigh*

Welp, guess I should get the first part of phase 3 done by this upcoming week.

Don't worry too much about me, I don't need that much of a break, you guys are worth it.

(I am going to have to get a new door now though)
