Once at the end of the elevator, Mono walked out, prepared for what was coming next. He looked back at the knight, and saw they were following him closely from behind. Mono flicked on his flashlight, and began walking forward. He entered a room, filled with mannequin parts like most of the other rooms, and suddenly, a hand crawled out from the drawers. Almost immediately after it emerged, another hand crawled out from a larger drawer.
Mono pulled out his ladle, and once the hand leapt for him, he smashed to the ground. The knight drew its nail, and began swiping at the second hand. Mono waited for the first hand to come back, and once it leaned, he crushed it with his ladle, with a burst of orange goo. He looked over, and saw that the knight had defeated the other hand. Mono tucked his ladle away, and pulled out his flashlight.
As he and the knight walked further, he noticed a large, orange glow in the distance. He entered a room filled with shelves, each one holding mannequin parts, and instantly knew what the glow was. He flicked off his flashlight, and crouched down. He looked back at the knight, and motioned for it to do the same. The knight nodded, and they both crawled under a shelf, and Mono looked up at the figure above them The Doctor.
The doctor had certainly changed since last time Mono faced him. He was covered in bubbles of infection, his eyes looked dead and had a strange orange glow, and drips of the infection leaked from his open mouth. In a situation like this, Mono would be shaking underneath his bag, but for some reason he wasn't. He was feeling something he hadn't felt since he had faced the thin man. Bravery.
Once the doctor moved to another shelf, Mono slowly crawled under the shelf, guiding the knight with him. They wandered through the rooms, and watched the doctor as he crawled on the ceiling above, checking the patients. Mono looked over to a locked cage door, and looked for a way to activate it. He saw a button, wired to the door, and knew what to do. He threw his ladle at the button, and then grabbed it once it fell to the ground.
The door opened with a loud *BEEEEEEEEEEEEP*, catching the doctor's attention. Mono grabbed the knights hand, and ran underneath a nearby bed. He looked up at the doctor as he crawled around above them, searching for them. Once the doctor left the room, Mono guided the knight to some drawers, leading to a vent. He and the knight climbed up, and entered the vent.
The two of them tip toed across the roof tiles beneath them, avoiding the open spots to not get seen by the doctor. Soon, they came to a room, and Mono stared in shock. The room was filled with jars, holding orange infection. Mono and the knight continued forward, but they ran into the doctor. Mono hid behind a wall, and peeked through the doorway to see what was going on. He watched as the doctor took a syringe, filled it with infection, and then injected in into one of the patients.
So that's how that patient became infected. Mono thought. He waited for the doctor to move to the next patient, and then scurried across the room, pulling the knight along with him. He hid behind a crate, and he and the knight peeked at the doctor. Mono looked at the room, and noticed a fuse in one of the shelves.
Mono looked back at the room they came from, and saw a door, with a keyhole for the fuse. How do we distract him? Mono thought. He wandered into another room, and saw a figure on a hospital bed, breathing as a heartbeat scale beeped. Mono looked at the switch wired to the machine, and a plan began to formulate inside his head.
"Boost me up," he whispered to the knight.
The knight nodded, and got underneath the switch, holding its hands out. Mono jumped onto them, and the knight boosted it up onto the switch. Once mono grabbed the switch, it pulled down, and the figure started to shake violently as the heartbeat scale moved to a straight line. Mono pulled the knight under the bed as the doctor came rushing in to check on the patient. He pulled the switch, and began to fix up the patient.
As he did that, Mono and the knight snuck out of the room from underneath him, and ran for the fuse. They got the fuse, and scurried back to the door. Mono slipped the fuse into place, and the door opened with another loud, *BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!*
As he heard the sound of the doctor crawling on the roof towards them, Mono started sprinting through the door, and through the hallway it lead to. The doctor followed them, and knocked over a shelf of mannequin parts, causing Mono to trip. Before the doctor could grab him, he glitched himself, and the doctors hands went right through him.
Confused, the doctor continued to swipe at him, trying to grab him. As he did, Mono looked for the knight, as they were nowhere to be found. Mono wanted to search through the toppled shelves, but to do that he would have to unglitch, leaving him defenseless to the doctor. As he looked for his friend, the pain in his head grew worse, and worse, until he couldn't take it any longer, and unglitched.
The doctor snatched him up, and crawled over to another room. Mono tried to fight back, but his head hurt too much to do so. The doctor strapped Mono onto a table, and began to get his tools. It walked over, with ether, and a syringe, ready to operate on him. Mono braced himself for the inevitable, and suddenly, the doctor screamed out in pain.
Mono looked, and saw the knight, leaping up and bursting the bubbles of infection on the doctor, avoiding his grasp. The doctor roared, and spit orange infection everywhere. As the two fought, Mono struggled to break free. His headache was fading, and he glitched himself once more. He quickly escaped the confines of the bed, and unglitched himself before the pain could build. The doctor looked back, and started chasing after Mono, but the knight let out another shriek, and black and white energy shot up at the doctor.
The doctor turned his attention towards the knight, and just as he did, it struck him in the face, bursting the final bubble of infection on him. The doctor screamed as infection gushed out from his body, and then fell to the ground, like an empty sack.
Mono took deep breaths, and looked over at the doctor.
"Good riddance," He said, with a vengeful tone. He hoped he would never have to see the doctor again.

Sorry I didn't upload yesterday, I'm having a bit of trouble finding the motivation to write this. If you're enjoying the story, and made it this far, once again, thank you SO much! I know I've said that a lot, but I can't find any other words to describe how much this means to me.
See you next chapter!(whenever it gets uploaded in who-knows how long.)
