As the knight stared at the slime Six had stepped in, Mono could tell that something was wrong. The knight was... shaking. It made sense as to why. It was clearly feeling emotions that it had never felt before. It wasn't used to this feeling.

Mono walked over to the knight, and held its hand to comfort it. The knight stopped shaking, stood up, and began to walk forward, cautiously. Mono was still holding onto Six, who was already afraid of this place. The knight was leading all of them. And all if them were scared.

Six was shinning light everywhere, getting put on edge by the smallest drop of water that fell. The knight was holding its nail, pointing it in all directions as if it knew something was about to attack. Mono didn't know what to do. But he knew he had to keep his friends safe. So he stayed alert as well, ready for something to come out of the darkness.

A sound suddenly rang out through the tunnels. One that the knight didn't like. It jerked its position towards the sound, holding its nail toward it. The knight inched closer, leading Mono and Six with it. As it lead them closer, Mono could hear the sound more clearly. It sounded like someone was breathing. But it sounded so distorted and clogged. It was like they were choking.

The knight turned the corner, and a green light above illuminated over the creature. It was standing tall on two legs, with six smaller limbs around its body. It had no eyes, and large, leech like lips. It was textured like a worm, and had loose... things hanging from its head area.

The creature noticed the three of them, then hastily surged towards them. All of them scattered, avoiding the creature's attack. The knight quickly slashed at the creature, and it was cut in half. Mono thought it was over, but suddenly a bone-chilling screech filled the room. Mono looked at the creature, and saw that its head was still alive, suspended in the air, and it's leech like lips were now filled with teeth.

The head of the creature moved closer to the knight, with its mouth chomping at the air. Mono leapt up to the head, and smashed it to the ground with his ladle. He continued to beat the head, until it stopped moving. Mono relaxed, feeling safer now that the head was defeated, but he was put on edge again once he heard Six scream.

The bottom half of the creature had grown its own mouth, filled with teeth, and was now charging at Six! She swung her shovel at the bottom half, trying to keep it away. She hit it towards Mono, and he smashed it with his ladle before it could get back up.

"What was that thing!?" Six asked, still panicked from the encounter.

The knight pulled out the journal, and showed them the page labeled, Flukemon. Mono read the page with Six, then looked at the knight.

"Is there anything else that we need to worry about down here?" He asked.

The knight flipped to another page, this one labeled, Flukefey. Once Mono and Six read the page, the knight put the journal away. It then continued walking forward, with its nail still drawn. Mono grabbed Six's hand, knowing she was still scared, and followed the knight.

Along the way, the three of them arrived at a point where the path stopped, and a gapping hole took it's place. The knight pointed at the hole, saying that it was the way to go. Mono nodded, and all three of them jumped into the hole. They fell into the murky water at the bottom, and were quickly noticed. A Flukefey lashed out on them, revealing its fang filled mouth. It zipped around, circling above them. Mono tried to fight back against the fluke, but he couldn't find solid ground.

The knight however, needed no solid ground, and disposed of the Flukefey with two swings of its nail. Mono noticed Six was holding onto him tightly, afraid to even let go. All of them swam through the water, and more Flukefeys noticed them. Mono swung his ladle above his head, trying to fight back against them, and protect Six. He managed to get rid of one, however another fluke latched onto his arm, sinking its teeth into his flesh. He screamed out in pain, and tried to pull the fluke out. Six quickly drew her shovel, and sliced it off his arm.

Mono looked at her. She seemed surprised by what she did. Then, she let go of his hand, and swung her shovel above her head, trying to help the knight get rid of the flukes. Once all of the Flukefeys were disposed of, both Six and the knight helped Mono out of the water.

"Are you okay?" Six asked, looking at his bloodied arm.

"I'll be fine. *huff* I'll be fine," Mono said, clutching his arm. "I just need something to stop the bleeding."

The knight nodded, and started searching the room for something to help.

"How bad is it?" Six asked, moving his hand away from his wound.

Six stared at his wound for a while, then, her stomach growled. She clenched her stomach, clearly in pain.

"Six?" Mono asked, reaching his good arm out to her.

"Get... Away... From... Me..."

"Six? What's going on?"

Suddenly, the knight came running back, with two large Flukemons chasing it down. Mono put the thought of Six aside, and pulled out his ladle to help the knight. He attacked one of the Flukemons, breaking it in half. It's head cried out, but another sound reached Mono's ears. Six's stomach growled louder, causing her to hunch over in even more pain. Mono wanted to help her, but the flying fluke head was more important at the moment.

Mono smashed the head into the ground, and pain surged through his arm as he swung. He dropped his ladle, and clenched his arm with his hand. The knight noticed that its friend was injured, and quickly defeated both halves of the Flukemon it was fighting. It ran to Mono, but it's attention was drawn to something else.

Six's stomach growled again, this time louder than ever. Mono started to walk towards her, but the knight held him back. Mono looked, and saw that the knight was eyeing Six with the most dead eyed, and fearful expression it had ever shown. It was clutching onto Mono, making sure he couldn't move at all.

As Mono was confused, the second half of the Flukemon he was fighting came to life, and saw Six, writhing in pain. It charged towards her, with its fangs drooling its own blood.

"Six! Look out!" Mono yelled.

But before the fluke could even touch Six, she grabbed it with her bare hands.

She pinned it to the ground,

And then sunk her mouth into the fluke, eating it up.

As Six ate the fluke, Mono shook, with only one thought in his head.

Well..... at least they have something else in common now, Mono thought, trying to stay positive. Besides, it's not like Six would try and eat him.

Right?
