As Chauncey felt them go limp underneath him, he slowly got up, dusting himself off. He turned to face Malak as he appeared behind him.

"I have apprehended the mortal, Lord Malak."

"Yes, good work," He straightened his tie. "I had no idea it would be this easy to catch Bierce's new puppet. Foolish mortal. Should have never touched the ring pieces" He murmured. "Do they still have it?"

Chauncey bent down and peeled the ring piece out of their hand, giving it to Malak. He curtly nodded his thanks and told him to watch the mortal and wait for the others, before disappearing again. So he stood there and waited for his fellow gold watchers to arrive, keeping an eye on the unconscious human laying on the ground.

'Well, at least I didn't have to strangle this one.'

Around 15 minutes later, Felix and Micheal slowly made their way through the forecourt, bickering about the best way to kill a human.

"--It has to be done slowly and painfully, so you can see the agony on their faces, it's hilarious!" Felix cackled.

"Ugh, no," Micheal frowned at him. "Just kill them quickly and be done with it! There's no need to waste your time on the filthy lowlifes. They are just disgusting creatures who want to steal the ring pieces and use their powers for all kinds of silly, frivolous stuff!"

"You wouldn't be saying that if they were gay." Felix pointed out.

Micheal stared at him for a moment, trying to think of a response. Coming up with nothing, he looked away and started grumbling to himself.

Felix walked over to Chauncey, noticing it laying on the floor, blacked out.

"I see you've caught the thieving bastard. Oh, and without harming it too! Staying true to your nature I see." He winked and jokingly hit him on the shoulder.

Chauncey chuckled faintly. "Yeah. Did Malak say anything yet?"

Micheal chimed in. "Nope. Told us to find you and wait for his orders once he's got the ring piece back in place."

"Ah, okay. So I suppose we don't just leave them here?" Chauncey asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh, definitely not. Malak would rip us to shreds if the mortal escaped. Let's tie em' up and sit them somewhere where we can keep an eye on them while we wait for the rest of his orders." Felix suggested.

"How about in front of the hedge maze?"

"Yes, that'd be good. There should be a few guys out there keeping watch too."

"Then it's settled. Anybody have some rope?"
