Tumayo ako nang marinig ang pangalan ko. Everyone applauded. Lalo na ang mga kaibigan ko. Sinuway ko sila dahil ang lakas ng boses nila at nakakahiya pero it somehow made my heart flutter. They looked proud!
Sadly, isang guardian lang pwedeng umakytat sa stage kasama ko. Si Daddy ang sumama sa akin at nagsuot ng medalya.
"Congratulations, Anak. I'm so proud of you." Dad kissed the top of my head after he wore the medal on me.
I wasn't expecting that I would have an award during graduation, but I guess those sleepless nights were worth it. Nag-peace sign ako tapos si daddy ay ang awkward tignan sa posing niyang nakatindig lang habang ang braso ay nasa balikat ko.
"Congrats, idol!" My friends greeted me after the ceremony.
"Sana all with honor, ako kasi Nora Aunor lang!"
"Kung hindi lang ako maaalalahanin, may medal din sana ako. Kaso iniisip ko 'yung bumibili ng medal tsaka gumagawa ng certificate, baka mapagod sila. Concern lang ako." Greg sighed heavily.
Binatukan siya ni Jayson. "Pinagsasabi mo. ugaok."
"Bakit? Totoo naman talaga, ah!"
Umiling na lang ako sa kulit nila. Lumapit ako kay Kim at mahinang binangga ang balikat niya. He got a medal dahil athlete siya. Sa kanilang apat, siya lang ang may medal kaya naiinggit 'yung tatlo.
"Basic lang 'to, guys," He conceited.
"Yabang mo." pabirong inimbahan siya ng suntok ni Javi.
"That's enough, kids. Closer kayo. Let's take a picture." my mom told us, holding a DSLR camera.
I looked at Javi when he suddenly put his arms on my shoulder, dragging me closer to him. I was in the center. Nasa left side ko si Javi at Greg. Sa kabila naman si Kim at Jayson. We all looked at the camera and smiled. We took a lot of pictures. Most of them are silly. Isa lang ata 'yung maayos na picture namin.
My most favorite photo of us five was when the four of them were looking at me and pointing their fingers at me while their brows were furrowed. It was so funny and cute. I also had a photo with my mom and dad.
Pagkatapos ng graduation ay dumeretso kami sa bahay dahil nandoon ang venue ng handaan. Papa ni Jayson at Papa ni Greg ang nagluto ng food kaya they weren't able to attend the ceremony.
"Don't change your clothes yet, kids. Let's take another picture." paalala ni mommy.
Bumalik naman kaagad ang mga kaibigan ko nang marinig ang sinabi ni mommy.
"Picture na naman, Tita." kinamot ni Javi ang batok.
