There is strange comfort in knowing that no matter what happens today, the sun will rise again tomorrow.

My parents comforted me when I told them that I didn't pass the exam. They told me that it was okay that I could still choose another program. So, here I am, sitting in the classroom taking up the HUMSS strand.

I stopped writing when my seatmate tugged the hem of my blouse. She leaned closer to my seat to say something.

"Pa-borrow," Sandra pointed to my correction placed beside my notebook.

She had to whisper because our teacher was still talking in front.

"Thank you, Mayi. Mayi, right?" she glanced at my ID to make sure.

I stopped when I noticed that she was still staring at me. She looks like she wants to say something.

"Nothing! Have fun sa lunch!" she shook her head.

I didn't know what to say so I nodded my head and was about to leave but she suddenly grabbed my wrist, stopping me.

"Actually... I want to ask you something, eh" she played with her lips. "Pwede ba groupmates tayo para bukas? Teka, may group ka na ba? Sali mo 'ko! Anyway! Wala kasi akong friends dahil transferee ako."

We both glanced at the side when our other seatmate moved, probably disturbed by Sandra's loud voice.

She's finally awake now.

Wala rin akong group," I answered.

"That's good! Dapat three, 'di ba?!

The girl looked confused and seemed not aware of the situation. She damped the towel she used to cover her face earlier while sleeping to wipe her face. She adjusted the strap of her backpack.

"Kayo bahala," sabi niya, walang pakialam.

Sandra looked happy. She told us that she'll be making a group chat for us to discuss.

"Sungit." Sandra pouted.

Nagpaalam na ako sa kaniya bago umalis. Kim was standing beside the door frame talking to one of our classmates.
