18. PURVI WAS WRONG

'Kaisa promise aur tumne mujhse kuch kaha kyun nahi..? Kya rishta hai Purvi aur Sameer ke beech..?' Aditya asked.

'SAMEER PURVI KA KUCH BHI NAHI LAGTA..' Dev said.

'JHOOT.. ITNA BHI JHOOT MAT BOLO DEV KI KISI KO SUPPORT KARTE KARTE KISI KE SAATH NAINSAAFI KAR BAITO..' Simmy who came to bureau said.

'Jhoot..? Jhoot tho ab tak tumhara saamne tha aur rahi baat nainsaafi ki tho tum yeh baat bilkul mat kehna kyunki tum yeh kehne ka hak bahut pehle kho chuki ho..' Dev said.

'Shayad aap log bhul gaye ki Purvi aur Sameer us raat ek hi bed pe..' Simmy said but CID team came there.

Aditya dragged Dev towards a corner while Simmy and the whole team stepped ahead to enter bureau.

'Kitne zaalim ho tum sab log.. Ek chota tufaan kya aaya tum logon ne tho Purvi ko bhula hi diya...' Dev said.

'Dev chalo yaha se..' Aditya said.

'Mai tho jaa raha hu lekin ek baat achchhe se yaad rakhna ki tum sab log isliye bol paa rahe ho kyunki Purvi kamosh hai.. Jis din uska muh khulega na tum sab ki bolti band ho jaayega..' Dev said and left from there along with Aditya.

The whole team entered inside the bureau. I sat in the cafeteria. I was so lost in my own thoughts but then I hit myself and made myself clear that Purvi was wrong. I went inside and sat in my desk and got immersed in my work.

Time passed by and then she came. She was in deep thoughts. Suddenly a phone call came and a case got reported. ACP sir asked me, Purvi and Pankaj to go to the crime scene and look into the matter. I looked at sir.

'Agar aap dono ko ek dusre se itna hi problem hai na tho CID chod do aur koi aur kaam kar lo.. CID mei rehna hai tho yu saath milkar kaam karna hi padega..' ACP sir said in a raucous tone.

We left to the crime scene. I was driving the car, Pankaj sat in the passenger seat while she sat back. I glanced in the rear mirror to see whether any car was coming when coincidentally my eyes fell on her. I saw her looking at me thinking something.

Pankaj called some friend on his phone and said, ' arey yaar pls mujhe na aise tum dono ka messenger mat banana.. Mai tum dono ke beech phasna nahi chahta.. Tum dono aapas mei baat kar lo..'

Pankaj cuts the call while I said, ' Yeh baat tum seede seede bhi keh sakte the Pankaj..'

I focused on driving. Pankaj sat quietly while she looked outside the window. After sometime, we reached the crime scene. We entered inside an independent house.

We saw an old man lying dead on the bed in a pool of blood. He had a knife in his chest with some blood.

'Pankaj laash ko achchhe se check karna aur Purvi.. *clearing my throat* Tum aas paas achchhe se check karo..' I said and left towards the door to interrogate.

'Aap logon ne yaha par kisi ko aate jaate dekha..?' I asked.

'Ha sir.. Vo Anjali..' Punit (Victim's son) said.

'Ha sir mai gayi thi dad se milne par maine dad ka khoon nahi kiya..' Anjali said.

'Dad..? Anjali shayad tum bhul chuki ho ki ab tumhara DIVORCE ho chuka hai.. Isliye ab dad tumhare father-in-law nahi hai..' Asha, Punit's wife said.

'Haa Anjali..' Punit said.

'Punit mai tumhe kitni baar samjhane ki koshish kiya ki maine tum par kabhi bhi CHEAT nahi kiya.. Tum ne ek baar bhi mujhse explanation maanga nahi..' Anjali said.

'Kyun maangu mai explanation..? Maine tumhe kisi ke saath kya kya karte nahi dekha hai un photos mei..?' Punit said being angry.

'Yeh sahi hai Punit.. Agar koi tumhe is tarah phasaye tho mujhe tum par trust karna chahiye par koi mujhe phasaye tho tum mujh par bilkul yakeen nahi karoge..' Anjali said.

'Aaj kal tho photo shopping bhi hota hai.. Aur tho aur maine suna hai ki jo hamare aankhon ke saamne hota hai vo hamesha sach nahi hota.. Maine suna hai ki CID ki cases mei bhi kabhi kabhi gumraah karne ke liye saboot hote hai.. Hote hai na sir..?' Anjali asked me.

'Ha hote hai.. Par philhaal ke liye aap mujhe yeh bataiye Ms. Anjali ki aap Mr. Arora (victim) se milne gayi kyun thi..?' I asked.

'Sir, vo actually dad ko sab pata chal gaya ki mai nirdosh hu.. Aur unhone mujhse isi baare mei baat karne ke liye bulaya tha.. Mai kamre mei gayi aur mujhe achanak ek phone call aaya.. Kamre mei signal nahi aata tho mai bahar gayi thi..' Anjali said.

'I see..' I said.
