40. MEDICINES ?

'Nahi papa.. Mujhe mamma ke paas rehna hai.. Akshay uncle I promise mai.. Mai aapke aur mamma ke beech kabhi nahi aaungi..' Pihu says.

'Ahh..??!!!! Mere aur Purvi ke beech ka kya matlab hai..?' Akshay asks.

'Uncle papa ne kaha ki aap aur mamma.. Aap aur mamma shaadi karenge aur yeh bachchi aap dono ki beti hai..' Pihu says pointing at the small baby lying on the bed.

Akshay coughs and then says, ' Meri aur Purvi ki beti..?'

'Purvi isse mera koi lena dena nahi hai.. Pata nahi is gadhe ko aisa kyun lagta hai.. I swear maine aisa kuch nahi kaha.. So pls excuse me..' Akshay says leaving out with the small baby.

Purvi sits down on her knees and says, ' Pihu tum Akshay uncle ke paas jao.. Mujhe kuch baat karna hai papa se..'

'Ok mamma..' Pihu says and leaves while Purvi locks the door from inside.

'Purvi.. Mai jaanta hu ki tum aur Akshay ne ek dusre se shaadi kar liya hai aur tumne 2 saal pehle us bachchi ko janm diya..' I confessed.

I didn't get a reply from her, so I turned back and saw that she was taking hard breaths while trying to hold something. I went near her.

'Purvi..' I said in a worried tone holding her through her shoulders.

She pointed in a direction and I went to that drawer.

'Box..' She said taking difficult breaths.

'Box..?' I said and opened the drawers and took out a medicines box where some medicines were kept.

'Yeh dawaiyan..' I said and looked at her.

I saw Akshay opened the door suddenly and then he went near Purvi. He looked at the box in my hands and took it.

'Akshay yeh dawaiyan..' I asked.

Akshay gave some yellow pills to her and then she became unconscious. Akshay lifted her up and laid her on the bed and covered her with a blanket.

'Akshay..' I said.

'Shh..!! Purvi so rahi hai.. Hum bahar chalte hai..' Akshay said in a low tone.

I left along with Akshay. We saw that everyone was standing outside with a worried look.

'Don't worry Purvi thik hai.. Vo aaram kar rahi hai..' Akshay said.

'Par Pari ko hua kya hai..? Vo aise..' Abhijeet sir said.

'Mujhe Purvi se ek baar baat karne dijiye.. Uske baad mai bataunga ki aakhir kya hua.. Aur aap log pls aaram kijiye.. Purvi bilkul thik hai..' Akshay said and left to the terrace.

We looked at eachother and then I went to the terrace. I didn't say a word until it was midnight. I looked at Akshay.

'Akshay.. Purvi vo dawaiyan..' I asked with some courage..

'Purvi ne tumse kuch kaha..?' Akshay asked me.

'Nahi.. Vo maine bataya ki mai jaanta tha ki tum aur vo shaadi shuda hai aur tum dono ki ek beti hai..' I said.

'Kya..???!!!!' Akshay said glaring at me, holding my collar.

'Are you crazy Kavin..? Tum Purvi se..' Akshay suddenly stopped and then he left my collar.

'Nahi.. Ab mujhe hi kuch karna padega..' Akshay said and left downstairs.

'Maine aisa kya galat keh diya..?' I said to myself.

I went to the guest house. The next day, Purvi opened her eyes and then she saw that Akshay was no where.

'Akshay kaha hai..?' She asked everyone.

'Vo tumse hi kuch baat karne wala tha.. Tumse baat nahi ki usne..?' Abhijeet sir said.

'Baat karna tha..? Kis baare mei..?' She asked.

'Pata nahi.. Kal tum achanak behosh ho gayi..' Daya sir said.

I saw Purvi thinking something and if my guess was right, she might be remembering about what happened yesterday night.

She called Akshay again and again but seeing her expressions, I understood that Akshay wasn't picking her calls. Her gaze fell on me. I tried to avoid my gaze but then she came near me.

'Aap kuch jaante hai na Akshay ke baare mei..?' She asked me.

'Mai..? Nahi toh.. Ah.. Mujhe abhi yaad aaya.. Vo mujhe Raghunath ka case file HQ bhejne the aaj dopeher tak.. Maine file hi nahi banayi..' I excused myself and went inside the room.

She came behind me and asked me again the same question. This time, I closed the door and turned towards her.

'Mai yeh tho nahi jaanta ki Akshay kaha gaya aur kya kar raha hai.. Par kal raat maine use vo bata diya jo hamare beech kamre mei hua...' I said.

'Usne kya kaha..?' She asked me.

'Usne mera shirt pakda aur pucha ki mai pagal.. Aur baad mei mai jab guest house..' I said.

'Kal raat mai guest house gaya tha aur maine vaha Akshay ko pagalon ki tarah kuch dhundhte hue dekha.. Maine usse pucha ki use kya chahiye par usne mujhse kuch kaha nahi aur usne kisi Vinay ko call kiya aur kaha ki sab ready rakho..' I confessed.
