I left the school and my mom was outside school waiting for me. I jump in, and my mom drives off home. "How was school Jeremy?" She asks. I answer with Destiny on my mind, "Amazing!" We get home and I run upstairs to my room. I really don't know what to do. I just lay in my bed and think about life. I have to get serious with life or else I'll be a jobless bum in the streets. I slowly fell back until I fell asleep.
Morning came and I rushed my clothes on. In an instant rushed down the stairs without my mom saying a word to me. I ran out the door into the school bus and got in. I looked around and there Destiny was sitting alone. I went up to her and asked, "Do you normally sit alone?" She looked at me with a puzzled face and said, "Yeah, sometimes I like to get away from people and be by myself. Don't you like to just be alone and just think about life?" What I heard stunned me as my heart continued to beat faster. I tell her, "That's crazy because I love doing that also." She looked at me surprised. "Maybe you would like to sit with me?" she asked being polite. I nod and sat with her. From there on, we talked until the bus got to school.
I looked at her and asked her, "Hey Destiny, you wanna hang out later after school?" She answered, "I would love to!" So we left to go to our classes. In English class I had to write a poem. I didn't know what to write until she came into my mind. I wrote my feelings toward her but had kept it hidden from everyone. I handed my poem in. When my teacher received the poem she said, "Oh my god Jeremy, this is beautiful!" I smile and thank her.
School ends and the weekend starts. I see Destiny coming to her locker with her new friend Caitlin. Caitlin was best friends with Maria aka Daniel's ex girlfriend, and a friend of mine. I always saw Caitlin and said hi but we never really talked much.
Destiny approaches her locker and waves bye to Caitlin. "So you and Caitlin are friends now?" I ask. "Yeah, she's a really sweet girl. I never met anyone like her." She responds. Thinking about the way I feel about Destiny, I tell her, "I know how that feels." I knew if I wanted to be something more than just a locker neighbor, I should go on some type of date with her. "Hey Destiny, we should hang out tomorrow at the park near the school." "Sounds great Jeremy. We should keep in touch though." she responds. We exchange numbers and I walk with her out the school.
Destiny and I walk to the bus stop and sit on the seats. Destiny tells me how hard life for her is. She explains how everyone mistreats her and she tries her best to keep a smile on her face. After she explained all that I looked at her and hugged her. I embraced her and told her "It kills me to see someone as beautiful as you go through all this. You deserve better than this." She starred at me for a few seconds and said, "Thank you Jeremy you're probably the most awesome friend in the school." I looked to see if her bus was coming and it was. "Oh look there's your bus." I said with a frown on my face. She got on the bus and looked back and said with a sweet voice, "See you tomorrow Jeremy."
After seeing Destiny take her bus home I decided to head home. I take my bag and walk home. As I walk I like to listen to music while I go home. It always keeps me happy and worry free. While I was walking, I saw a girl from a distance texting on the phone waiting for the bus as well. As I get closer I see that it's Caitlin. I go up and greet her, "Hey Caitlin." She looks at me always smiling and always happy. "Hi Jeremy." she says back. I sit next to her and asked her how was her day to start a conversation. She asks, "Can I ask you a few questions to get to know you better?" I'm glad I'm making new friends this year. She will be a great friend. She looks like the type of a girl who is super nice and says yes to a lot of things but you can't judge a book by its cover. I said yes to her question and she asked "Ok, tell me your favorite artist, color, and food." I thought for a while and answered "Bruno Mars, blue and green, and cheeseburgers. When she heard my answers she got really happy and excited because those were her favorites too. Since then we became pretty close and she gave me her number to text. After, I walked home.
