I watched as a hundred exhausted students dragged themselves around the width of the field, panting heavily, slumping like dying animals. Laken chuckled softly, as a girl slipped on the mud and went crashing to the floor; causing a domino effect and taking down five others with her.

The winning team who had come first, had decided that it was a brilliant idea to make the losers run five laps of the large field -at one in the morning, and I was so here for it.

They'd also announced that at the end of the week, the entire school would be going to a theme park in the next town over. The cheers had echoed for miles once the news spread, and I couldn't pretend I wasn't excited too

"Let's head to bed, you mischiefs."

We broke away from the crowd of students, heading back to our camp. A flurry of students followed as people slowly left the show and headed for a good nights sleep.

With a quick goodnight, I separated from the boys and headed to my tent. Apparently, boys and girls weren't allowed to bunk together so I was sharing a tent with Liliane and Sophianna. I wasn't one for rules but I didn't mind bunking with the girls and accepted it, much to Hendrix's dismay.

I opened up the zip and got inside before zipping it back up, halting the cold from reaching in. I was greeted with loud hello's and wide smiles before I was ushered into my blanket and thrusted into a conversation.

I smiled, eargerly falling into the lure of drama as we chatted, snuggling against the mountain of blankets encasing us.

I was definitely glad that we hadn't lost when a exhausted cry shattered the night.

I groaned, shuffling in the cold air. I pulled the blanket closer, tangling my legs in the soft material.

Another ping vibrated somewhere under my pillow, making me grunt. I shoved my head under the blanket, clinging to whatever scraps of sleep I had left.

An arm landed on my hip, swatting me as another alert broke the silence. I made no move to turn it off, earning another swat. "Answer the damn thing." Sophianna moaned as she left her arm draped over my hip.

I still didn't move. My phone pinged again.

That did it.

I sighed sharply, eyes snapping open as I shoved my head out from under the suffocating blanket. I blinked into the darkness, vision adjusting while the chilly air immediately wrapped around me.

I glanced beside me to see that Sophianna had fallen back asleep, softly snoring. I reached behind my pillow, blindly searching for the phone until my hand made contact with the warm metal. The tent went eerily silent as I opened up my phone; no more notifications hitting it as if whoever was on the other end had sensed my presence. I grunted in annoyance, letting my eyes wandering over the unknown contact. I clicked on it.
