Natalie's pov.
I took a walk around the house after i finished my responsibilities. I sat on the stairs and started falling asleep
"Better get back to work" one of Kayla's roommates told me while walking by with sheets, startling me while walking past.
The adoption lady slowly came up behind me and sat, so that she was at the same height as me.
"Well, how are you doing this morning?" She Asked
"I'm ok, I just miss the world"
"I'm sure you do, but you will be 16 tomorrow, and that's big."
"Ya I guess."
Turning 16 didn't really excite me that much. it's just a number.
"You want to know something else that's big?" Her eyes lit up making me feel nervous.
"What"
"Well...someone has been getting information on you, and I think this person is serious about adopting you."
"WHAT?!" I screamed so hard I bet the whole house heard it.
"Yes. I think you will really enjoy this opportunity." almost laughing at my face
This is just was too much to take in.
I'm 16, no one ever adopts teens! Was it a he or a she? What about kayla? Where will I live? Will they accept me in their family? Will they have a family?
Will I get treated any better than here? Are they nice?
I sat there in my thoughts probably looking like i just saw a sloth maul an alpaca.
(This is my weirdness guys this is actually me)
"I know this is a lot to take in, and I can tell by your face, so, I'll leave. but come find me when you want to know more ok?" She was always so nice to me
"Wait before you leave, can I ask a favor?" I asked as I could feel my stomach already in knots
"Anything sweetie!"
"Could you ask them if they have any other kids?"
"I'll try my best" as she said those words made my heart light up.
She gave me a soft smile and turned then left.
