My new family?

Natalie's pov.

I slowly walked downstairs and saw the adoption lady signing some papers. next to her was a super tall guy. he seemed to have had a deep voice at first but it eased up. I walked down the hall and through the stairs as slow as possible. he looked at me and he just stared as I walked down step by step. his eyes met mine, and his sparked in excitement, he let out a dorky smile. he made me feel loved already.
"Hello, I'm Luke"
"Um, hi I'm Natalie"
"Ok, you guys are good to go, we got everything taken care of." the lady at the desk said.
"Ok, bye thank you so much!" He said
We walked to his car in silence.
I starred at everything. his car, the grass, Him, me, i haven't seen much outside of the orphanage in 6 about years.
"Sooo...do you like cars?" He asked trying to start a conversation.
"I don't know."
"What do you mean?"
"I haven't been in a car for years" I said while opening the car door
"OHMYGOODNESS" he startled me
"Yeah...it's ok I guess."
"No that's not ok, I just got this car, its a mustang." I could tell he was just as nervous as me.

"It's nice... um, if you don't mind me asking... how old are you? I mean, arnt you to young to adopt me?"
"You don't know who I am do you?"
He said with a smile trying not to come out.
"No, why?"
"Wow, 19" he chuckled "how long have you been in there?" He said kiddingly but I wasn't in that kind of mood so i looked out my window and fell softly into my seat
"6 years"

"Whoa, well at lest you where free."

"If getting up early every morning to clean the house 4 times and not being able to have a phone, tv, or music of any kind, is your version of 'free' then...sure, we were 'free'"

"Oh,I'm sorry i didnt know"

"It's fine.."
"So you really don't know who I am?" He said shockingly
"I didn't make myself clear earlier?"
"Say no more...I got it."
We drove by all the places (we used to hang out getting waisted) I've never seen before

"Oh god, I gotta get my Starbucks run, do u want anything?"

"Um... What's Starbucks?"

"It's an amazing coffee place. how much do you trust me?"
"Actually I don't trust you at all yet."
"Well to bad, I'll order it for you anyways"
"Um ok..."
We drove into Starbucks and he placed our order in. he took me for a long ride after we got the coffee.
Soon we pulled up to a big 2 story house. he helped me get out of the car and get my bag. he got his key and opened the door.

"Well, this is my house,you can call it yours if you want, technically it's me and my friends house. But there is plenty of food in the fridge...and it's restocked almost every day... let me show you your room." he took me upstairs and shows me this empty room, with a bed, and I huge closet.
"I'll let you unpack, then we can go do lunch somewhere?"
I nodded as it was only 10:00
I got my bag and started to unpack. I set the picture of my family on the nightstand. I got lost in the grey walls of my room. as I unpacked I remembered that it was time to take my allergy meds that the nurse gave me. I opened the bottle and got 2 out.
"Darn"
I had to go downstairs to get some water. I slowly came down and heard Luke on the phone in the living room.

"Hey, I got a surprise.--- i did it! ----Yeah---I don't think she likes me though---kinda she's in her room unpacking----come to lunch with us and you will meet her----that pizza place down the street---k bye."

I quickly ran up the stairs and pretend I was just coming down.
"Oh hey, are you ok?"
"Ya I just need some water"
"Oh ok cool tell me when your ready for lunch, i Donno bout u but I'm starving." Laughing a little inside I said
"Ok, I'll just finish unpacking then"
I got the water, took my pills, and went back upstairs. after 2 minutes I was done, and downstairs.
