As I sit there, anxious for takeoff, Kyzer looks over to me. As the jet moves and lifts off the ground, I sit back hard against the seat, digging my nails into the armrests. I feel something warm around my hand and I open my eyes and I look down and I'm digging my nails into Kyzer's hand. I stop and I look at him and his eyes are in his phone as if he didn't feel it. He looks up at me and raises his eyebrow.

"What's the matter?" he says.

"You didn't feel that?" I say?

"Oh no. I felt it. I just wanted you to have a little support for your first plane ride." he says, looking back at his phone.

After a couple seconds I smile amd I say "Thank you.". He turns to me and looks me up and down, then smiles and nods his head.

"If you want to sleep, there's a room in the back." he says, still scrolling through his phone.

"Why'd you say that?" I ask, trying to loosen my grip on his hand.

"Because you might want to sleep in for this flight. It's gonna take hours to get to where we're going."

"How long?"

"About twelve hours total. After six hours, we'll land at another private port and take a break, get out, get some air, then we'll hop back on and finish the flight." he explains.

"Okay." I say. "I think I'm gonna go take a nap. I'm getting lightheaded." I add, getting up and stumbling to the bed. I go to the bathroom and I look at myself in the mirror, splashing water on my face and drying my face, taking deep breaths, and then I exit the bathroom and I head to the bed a few feet away from me. I lie down and I check the time before finally falling asleep.

When I wake up, it's dark and all I can see are the lights from the cities below the plane. I feel a heavy mass behind me so I look back and I find Kyzer sitting behind me on his phone.

"What time is it?" I ask, feeling around for my phone.

"9 p.m. ." he says, keeping his eyes on his screen. "You slept surprisingly well. And long. It's been about eight hours."

"Eight?"

"Yeah. I've been making phone calls and attending virtual meetings, calling in favors, checking on the mafia's market and tons of other things while you've been asleep. I've been sitting here for about two hours now. I didn't wanna wake you when we landed for a break." he says, finally locking his phone and turning on a little lamp.

Suddenly I feel the plane start to shake a little, making everything in the room shake. I quickly wrap my arms around him and I hold him tight, closing my eyes.

Then he starts to laugh.

"What's funny? What's going on?" I say, looking around as the room shakes.

"It's just turbulence." he says, smiling.

"Turbulence?" I question.

"It happens when there's a sudden change in altitude. It causes the plane to shake a little, that's all." he says, placing his hand on my lower back.

My breath hitches in my throat and I awkwardly laugh and I get off him, making his hand slip from my back.

"I'm sorry. Did I make you uncomfortable?" he asks, looking up at me as he leans back on the wall, looking at me with those pretty blue eyes.

"Uhm... no. No, it wasn't you, I just-where're the snacks and stuff?" I ask awkwardly.

"In there." he says, pointing.

I smile and I quickly walk away.

I don't know how, but I think I'm starting to... feel things. And it's weird. Sort of. I mean, I just found out my ex-fiancé cheated on me and gave me away to a mafia boss who's insanely hot and is a real gentleman, and also insanely hot and... insanely hot.

I can't be falling now.

It feels wrong.

But it feels so right.

Ugh! I'm confusing myself.

Ryder never loved me. That's clear. I literally heard him say it. So who would it hurt if I... fell in love with him? It wouldn't hurt, right?

Whatever.

I grab a snack and I sit down in a seat with my knees up to my chest as I eat, and I get on my phone and I go through Instagram. After I'm finished, my eyes start to get heavy.

I'm guessing I wasn't quite ready to wake up when I did. I walk back into the room and I lie back down and I get under the covers. After a few minutes, of me lying down on my phone, I feel Kyzer shift behind me and then I feel his arm fall over my hip.

I smile thinking back to what I was thinking about earlier, I close my eyes while scooting back a little, pushing my back against his chest as it heaves up and down while he sleeps.

He grunts and exhales in his sleep, but I don't bother to move. I stay as I am as I drift off to sleep again, feeling a feeling of safety and comfort in his arms.

What feels like ten minutes later, I wake up and he's no longer behind me. I get up and I rub my eyes as I watch Ky get back into the jet.

"We're here?" I say, yawning.

"Yeah, I was about to come and wake you up. I was just finishing loading up the bags in the rental." he says. "You ready?" he asks.

"Uh.. yeah. Yeah, I am." I say, walking over to him. His hand lands on my back and his rings touch my warm skin, making me hum.

"You alright?" he says as we step out of the jet.

"Yeah. I just-it feels good out here." I reply.

"Okay. We're gonna be staying in the house with mom and my sister the whole time we're here." he says, opening my door for me to get in.

Sister?

He rounds the car and gets in and that's when I speak. "You have a sister?" I ask.

"Yeah. She's.. something." he says, smiling as he starts the car.

"How old is she?"

"Five."

"Wow. I would've never thought." I say as he begins to drive.
