Kyzer's POV:

After a few hours, they release me and I go to visit Isa's room. Milo brought me some clothes, so I'm finally comfortable.

Carter's standing at her bed side as she sleeps, and I sigh, looking down at her.

"What's been going on?" I ask.

"She just fell asleep. They ran some tests on her and confirmed that she's completely fine. She didn't catch anything. But she's fine now, thank God." he says.

"Yeah...." I say back.

I look over to him and I give him a small smile.

"Thank you guys for being there for her while I was gone. I don't know how I'll ever thank you three."

"You don't have to. She's our sister now. It's like nature to protect her now."

I look back over to her and I hover over her, leaning in to leave a long kiss on her head, smoothing her hair back and whispering against her skin.

"I'm gonna kill that bastard. He's never going to hurt you again, okay?"

I pull away after leaving another kiss on her head, and I look over at Carter.

"You ready?" I say.

"Hell yeah. Let's go." he says, nodding his head.

I called Mom a bit after I woke up. She was a little hesitant on flying, but she's gonna come down with M'Kenna to stay with Isa while I'm gone. She should be here within five hours, and by then, I should be done at the base.

Me and Carter go out to the car and I get in the driver's seat, starting the car and pulling off. When me and Carter get there, I sit there in my seat, a little hesitant to get out.

Carter looks over at me, as if sensing what I'm feeling.

"Hey, man, nothing's changed. Everything's gonna be fine."

"Yeah, but... I don't know.. it feels like the first day of school all over again."

"School. I can't believe you were in school as a kid." Carter says, laughing.

"You're a dick." I say, shaking my head and laughing with him.

"No, but really," he continues, a smile on his face as his hand rests on my shoulder. "You got this. Walk in there as if nothing's happened. You own the place. Act like it." he says, shrugging.

With a deep sigh, I tap my foot in anxiousness.

Then I open my door and I get out, Carter doing the same. As I walk up to the gates, my guards and goons salute and welcome me back.

When I get inside, walking in like I own the place, because I do, I'm greeted with 'Welcome back, boss' and a nod of a head everywhere I look.

Carter's right. It's like nothing's happened.

I go downstairs, my shoes thumping against the steel stairs as I walk further down to the trenches of my base.

This is where executions and torture happen. Their faint screams can sometimes be heard from all the way upstairs, even though the dungeons are two floors down. As we walk deeper into the dungeon area, passing different cells, I finally come across one where I hear grunts and blows landing.

Two of my officers stand outside the cage and I look inside the cell at Tink and what she's doing.

"How long has that been happening?" I ask them.

"About five minutes now, sir." one of them says.

"Hm. Get security upstairs to watch the premises while I'm down here. Get my SOC (second in command) up there in the training room, I want everyone training."

"Yes sir." they walk away, talking on walkie-talkies as they go upstairs.

I open the gate, and I take off my shirt, already hot and sweating a little from the heat of the dungeon.

When I walk in, Tink grunts as she throws punch after punch at Jacob.

"Tinkieeee," I say, holding out my arms and walking up to her, throwing my arm around her neck. "Ease up. Save some of the fun for me."

"Don't worry. This guy's got some high pain tolerance." Tink says, shaking her hand.

"Good. I can have quite some fun with him." I say, letting her go and walking up to him, squatting down to see his head hanging low, little grunts coming from him.

I get back up and I stand there in thought.

"Hey, Tink?" I say.

"Yeah, boss."

"I could use your advice." I say, grabbing some brass knuckles and sliding my fingers into the slots, balling up my fist around them.

"What's up?"

I throw a punch to Jake's face, grunting as I punch him in his jaw multiple times.

"*punch* What tools haven't I *punch* used on someone down here?" I say, watching Jacob writhe in pain as he throws his head back, groaning with blood covering his face.

"I wouldn't know, boss."

"Well then... I guess I'll play around." I say, standing up straight and walking up closer to Jacob.

I pull his hair back, making his head lift to look me in the face. I scoff and I shake my head, looking down at him.

"I never thought it'd get here." I start. "I trusted you, Jake. And you fucked it up. Why did you do it? Hm?" I ask.

He doesn't say anything, he just looks off and shakes his head.

"Should I force it out of you? Huh?!" I yell, jacking him up.

"Listen," he says weakly. "I'm sorry Ky. Really I am."

"Sorry doesn't fucking cut it." I say, dropping him and pacing around the room, raking my fingers through my hair. "You know what this means for you. Don't you?"

He doesn't say anything, giving me my answer.

"We've been friends for years, Jacob. Why? Why?"

And still he doesn't say anything.

I know what I have to do. I may as well get it over with.

I hold my hand out to Tink, and she puts a gun in my hand. It's the first time I've been hesitant to aim one.

Still, I do, and I tighten my finger on the trigger, wanting to pull it. But I can't.

"Fuck." I say in frustration, trying to pull the trigger.

Fucking do it, Kyzer!

I close my eyes and I pull the trigger, listening to his blood splatter everywhere. His body goes limp and I put my gun down, not wanting to look at his corpse.

"Get rid of him." I say to Tink, giving her the gun back and picking up my shirt.

Something feels different.

Like I can't feel anymore. Almost like I'm someone else.

But maybe it's a good thing.
