School is already over and your heading out to your car. As soon as you're about to get in you heard a familiar voice which you obviously couldn't ignore "won't you come and play with us y/n? we're going to the arcade" you were just about to decline but suddenly stopped then smiled warmly at her "why not...but I won't be staying long. I have an important thing to do but I'll invite you to a meal to make it up to you guys how about that?" Genta cheers in the back in excitement "sure thing! I can't wait to eat delicious unagi" they smiled at you to reassure you they're ok. You all walked together when Conan glanced at you then turned to face everyone "sorry guys I won't be staying for long as well" Conan sheepishly smiled as you stared at him confused
"gosh Conan too! well ai-Chan are you going as well?" The three kids looked at haibara with burden written on their faces making her feel bad "don't worry guys I'll be staying let's go to the arcade"
- later at the arcade-
"Guys I need to leave now, Conan, since your place is on the same direction as mine do you want me to give you a ride back home?" You held your school bag wearing it as you waved goodbye to everyone with Conan at your side "Alright" You entered the car waving at them then answered your phone that was ringing
"y/n will you be going right now" you gently placed your hand on the seat belt closing it
"yes don't worry dad I'll be fine" you let out a small hum whilst nodding
"I don't like this part where you have to lie with a straight face" you glanced at Conan he was minding his own business then turned to look through the car window
"Don't know you could see my face...sorry anyways did you get my clothes tailored for today's event" you raised a brow tapping your fingers on your bag
"yes just come back home and I'll teach you how to use some gadgets I did as well" you brightened up in excitement nodding
"sure I'll be a bit late since I'm with a friend right now" you took another quick glance to see Conan looking at you he seems to be interested in what you're talking about
"sure but not too late I want to see my daughter, bye"
"...goodbye, dad" You shut your phone then you sighted before looking at Conan
"she talks with him like a business partners. seems like your father adores you a lot"
"of course he would,what father wouldn't?" You bitterly smiled since you knew it's a fact that your biological father despises you " what's with that smile?. anyway are you going to some event or something?" You turned staring at him for a good few seconds studying his expression "You really are good at not minding your own business...but, yah I'll be going to an event... a very special one too" a wide smile spread across your cheeks as you couldn't help but laugh. He looked at you confused the hell out
"what is it I haven't heard anything about an event" you looked at the window with glistening eyes that's has some reminiscence in them
"that is a secret, Conan. I can't tell you and don't start snooping around it's not a joke this time" you squinted your sharp cold gaze at him as a threat
"oh this is my stop I'll be leaving" he quickly left the car without answering to your threat he seems to also be hiding something "Conan, I see why you are here earlier than usual are you with your girlfriend?" You got out of the car as ran bended down to your level with a soft smile "she is not my girlfriend she is a friend" you greeted her with a curious look "hello pretty miss, are you conan's big sister?" You smiled brightly shaking her hands "yes, I am ran mori it's nice to meet a cute girl like you. would you like to eat lunch with us?" You shook your head clenching your fists as you took a step backwards "that would be nice of you but I must decline because i promised my dad to eat with him lunch" she sighted understandingly waving goodbye to you and so did Conan "too bad well then come eat here next time you visit" you nodded waving back at them
"I'll make sure to do that bye
ran-neechan bye Conan" you entered the car to see Conan staring at you seriously
"what's with him? anyways there is a chance I might not die but the death rate is too high" you scoffed at the bitterness you're feeling your gaze trailed to your phone as it rang
"my lovely daughter would you like to go out with me?" He seemed a little sad knowing of your condition
"sure, we still got time but remember that I still got a chance to live if everything goes my way" you hung up leaving the car walking in to see Tetsuo with a warm smile
"come on let's go the park... I'll take you to that house, be brave and remember I'm not the only one who cares for you" You stayed at the park talking and catching up with your father until sunset
"I guess it's time for me to go don't worry, dad. I'll come back alive in one piece" He drove you near the location. you got out of the car with your chin high up
"good luck y/n I'll be waiting for your victorious return" sharp pain prickled your heart making it throb, your eyes locked into his as you but pursing your lips holding your feelings in
"thanks, dad... I'll be going now" You dressed in black so they can't spot you and wore the mirror around your waist you balled your fists raising it in the air to give yourself a boost of confidence and to reassure Tetsuo "is this the event your going to?" your head did a 180 jumping from your place turning around
"shit this idiot!! You're not supposed to be here! you'll end up dead it's dangerous it's no better than "them" " you tried pushing him away but failed he's such a hardheaded person it's driving you crazy
"then why are you here?" you glared at him holding your fist from punching him
"I'm here to retrieve something important... so go back home I don't want more blood spilled on my hands" you tried shooing him away but he wouldn't budge
"I'm here to help...you know I tried coming here once for investigation about a case. and I found a way in and I'll also help you in whatever you want in exchange for you to give me information about something once we get out" you closed your eyes deeply frowning, you then let out a heavy sigh shaking your head "how smart well it's not like I underestimated him to begin with. Well listen here smartypants I'll take up the offer but promise me you will run as soon as things go down" he nodded as you both walked "...sure now come this way" You both walked to the side of the huge mansion it was as big as Tetsuo's and your pretty sure there is more to it underneath in the basement "Over here come look at this" he pointed at a hole enough to fit a kid "can't believe they have money and everything but forgot to patch a kid size hole...Impossible we can't go through here they might have set a trap" he pulled you in looking around to see for any sign of traps " well we can't know unless we try and anyways every step we are already taking is risky enough" you nodded not arguing seeing how reasonable he was and followed him inside not arguing
"you don't seem afraid of death...how brave" you smirked whispering at Conan nudging on his shoulders as he pushed you away trying to speak "I AM afraid, unlike you who hasn't even bat an eye while saying it in such a place, anyways how do you know this place?" you broke in cold sweat from the memories suddenly rushing in your head "it's a hell hole that I've crawled out from Isn't it mesmerizing~" he felt shivers go down his spine " well then, shall we enter this event I'll be your partner" the backyard was empty so you both headed for the kitchen window "this is our next stop...the kitchen"
"why the kitchen though?" You lean in gesturing to come closer
"listen to everything I have to say and follow my instructions, there is a a huge closet in the hallway that's attached to the kitchen it's locked but I have the key" you both peaked into the open kitchen window "I got it but doesn't it seem empty for a huge mansion?" He got inside helping you in "well I didn't choose this time for no reason all worker go down the basement" you checked your watch then glanced at Conan "Just how much does he know about this place....why is that?" you placed you hands on your lips smiling
"you'll see if we get the chance to after they go back up"
