CHAPTER XIII: The Future Ahead

<<Meanwhile with the missionary>>

The injured man found himself at peace. Now that the mermaid was free for good, he could finally rest for a while. At that moment, he approached the water from the spring and started washing his wound with it. But then suddenly, the beautiful mermaid appeared once more from inside the spring much to the missionary's surprise.

"You are hurt..." the mermaid muttered in concern.

"In body only" the missionary replied. "My mind is at peace... thanks to you"

"Me?"

"Yes... I was lost... The wind... the tides... They ought to renew a man's faith. But for me, only you" The missionary started chuckling slightly. "It's funny... I don't even know your name and yet... I feel so close to you already"

The mermaid looked at the missionary with a longing expression. "I... I can save your life. All you need to do is ask"

"No... I only seek one thing"

"And what is that?

"You forgiveness... If not for me, you would've never been captured"

The mermaid widened her eyes at that moment. But then, she took a gentle hold of the missionary by his arms, and approached him closer than ever. "My name... is Mio... What about yours?"

"I am... Arleos'' the missionary finally said.

And right after that, the beautiful mermaid finally sealed their newfound bond and relationship with a deep kiss, and dragged Arleos to the very depths of the sea. One would think that a mermaid would get rid of the poor man in the most brutal of ways. But Mio wasn't like that any longer. She was gonna save Arleos... and then live alongside him for the rest of their lives.

<<Some time later with Natsu and Lucy>>

The blondie and the pinkette were inside a small boat at the ocean. They were rowing all the way towards a very small island which they could see in the distance. In addition, they were taking Lisanna with them, who was actually restrained with her arms tied up behind her back.

"I hate you" Lisanna told Natsu.

"He saved your life" Lucy replied.

"The years I possessed... extracted from my dear grandfather"

"Just be grateful he wasn't Mirajane or Elfman" Natsu said. "Besides, I only helped Hades do what any other relative would do for his family in his place" A few minutes later, the pinkette and the blondie finally arrived at the island and immediately dropped Lisanna on the sand... along with one sole weapon. "One pistol... one bullet... Good luck"

"So it's kill myself or starve to death?!"

"Don't be such a drama queen. This is a very well-traveled trade route. You can signal a passing ship and someone will surely come to save you sooner or later. OR... you can just bite the proverbial bullet, as it were"

Natu\su and Lucy started leaving. But then suddenly, Lisanna stood up in one go and tried to hit Natsu from behind. Turns out the white-haired girl had actually freed herself from her restraints a while ago, and was just waiting that whole time for the right moment to attack.

However, that still didn't work. The pinkette turned around quickly and blocked Lisanna's attack. Then, the white-haired girl approached Natsu again, but in a way more calm and seductive way. "Admit it, Natsu... You love me, don't you?" Lisanna asked as Lucy startled

"Heh... If I had to choose between your sister and a dog... I'd keep the dog" Natsu and Lucy began leaving again, but Lisanna had still not given up.
