Matt continued to come into the gym every day and watch me while I worked. I still found it a bit creepy but I suppose it was flattering in a way.

“I thought you didn’t mix business with pleasure anyway?” Jack questioned.

“I don’t, Matt isn’t a client!” I replied.

“Fair enough, isn’t it off putting though, him staring at you all day?”

“Yeah sometimes, it’s sweet though!”

“Sweet?!”Jack retorted, “Tia you’re in way too deep!”

Jack left me confused by saying that. I didn’t think I was in too deep, I guess I was just enjoying the attention Matt gave me. You see the thing is; Matt and I weren’t so different. I had been in one serious relationship and he ended up cheating on me after two years and then moving to china. I didn’t have a good track record. I mentioned before my issues with trust, that relationship was another factor which added to my scathing views. It’s not that I liked being single, because I didn’t, I just preferred to keep things casual; in my opinion flings are underrated.

“We still on for tonight?” Matt asked.

“Yeah, where are you going to take me?” I replied

“I don’t mind, where do you want to go?”

“Well the fair is in town, we could check that out?” I suggested

“The fair?” he repeated, doubtfully, “really?!”

“Yes! Lighten up, Grumpy!” I instructed, lightly punching his strong chest.

“Okay, okay. The fair it is then.”

*MATT POV*

I arrived at Tia’s early again, my dad came home and I didn’t want to be around him so I left. I was greeted at the door by Alex again, by now I had figured out he was her brother, they had the same sparkling green eyes.

“Hey gorgeous.” I said as she walked into the living room where I was sat with her baby sister watching some ridiculous kids show. Once again she had Theo perched on her hip.

“Hi love,” she replied, “you need to stop doing this to me; I’m not ready!”

“Sorry!” I laughed

“I have to feed Theo then do my make-up and then we can go!”

“I can do that?” I offered.

“My make up?”

“No! Feed the baby you donut!”

“Oh,” she laughed, “are you sure?”

“Yeah, I used to feed my sister all the time.”

She lay the baby down in my arms and handed me a bottle of warm milk. I looked into his wide eyes as he gargled through his smile, his legs thrashing about uncontrollably.

“Hey little man,” I whispered, “you hungry?”

I offered the bottle to his mouth and he took it gratefully, eyes constantly flicking backwards and forwards between me and the bottle in front of him. Unlike Tia and Alex, Theo’s eyes were a piercing blue.

“You’re set to be a little heart breaker, you!” I told him, smiling as he dropped the bottle from his mouth. I lifted him up and settled him over my shoulder, gently rubbing his back as little burps escaped.

“Well aren’t you the perfect Daddy!” Tia smiled as the reappeared at the doorway.

“Shh, you’ll wake the baby!” I warned as I felt soft snores against the crook of my neck, “do you want me to put him down?”
