After last night, a lazy day looking after the little ones sounded perfect, I threw on a pair of Alex’s old joggers and let them hang loosely on my hips, I found a tank top on the floor and threw it on too.

I was sat in the living room, rocking Tilly in my arms as Theo slept silently beside us, when there was a knock at the door. Alex was at work and my mum was still away so I wasn’t expecting anyone. I pulled myself up off the sofa and made my way towards the door.

“Morning gorgeous.” He said, beaming as he saw me in the doorway. As his eyes grazed over me, I remembered that I did actually look hideous; my hair was slicked back into a pony tail, I had no make-up on and I was wearing the oldest clothes I own. I felt my cheeks blush with embarrassment, “so are you going to let me in? It’s pretty cold out here!”

“Yeah, of course, come in.” I said once my thoughts had re engaged, “I didn’t know you were coming, I would have tried to look less like a tramp!”

“Don’t worry about it, you look lovely,” he laughed, holding out the big pink bear that he had been holding “you left this in the car last night, I was passing by and I thought I’d drop it off.”

I smiled at him; he blatantly wasn’t just passing by as he had admitted before that this wasn’t a part of town he’d ever been to before.

“Thanks,” I giggled, “cup of tea?”

“Yes please. So what have you got planned for today?”

“Nothing really, Alex is out and mum’s still on her holiday so I was just having a lazy day. How about you?”

“ah cute,” he stated, “I was supposed to go out with mum but my dad lost it last night so she said we’d go another day.”

I walked back to the sofa he was sitting on, Tilly in his arms. I put the tea on the table, and tickled Tilly’s tummy before collapsing on the sofa beside him.

“Well you’re welcome to spend the day here if you want,” I offered, “this is all we’ll be doing all day and this sofa’s big enough for one more.”

It felt strange inviting Matt to spend the day with me, just last week I couldn’t stand the sight of him, but now I felt myself enjoying his company, I felt relaxed around him. Usually with the boys I was involved with, I’d only see them at night, and they weren’t particularly interested in my personality. They all had the same reputation as Matt, that’s why I went for them, they would seduce me, sleep with me, and then we’d never speak again. I liked it because it was uncomplicated.

“So what are we watching?” Matt asked, as the bright shapes on the TV sang and danced about the stage.

“Oh it’s called I know my shapes,” I said confidently, “I thought it’s be appropriate for your level of intelligence.”

Matt looked at me with a mock shock and hurt on his face.

“You did not just go there.”

“Oh… but I did.”

As soon as I said this Matt was on top of me, his legs kneeling either side of my hips, his long fingers tickling my sides. I couldn’t help but laugh; I’m the most ticklish person you’ll ever meet.

“STOP, STOP!” I pleaded breathlessly, between my laughs.

“Not until you apologise!” he replied.

“Ok, ok,” I panted, “I’m sorry, IM SORRY!”

Matt stopped tickling me and moved his hands up my body, holding my wrists to the sofa below me. I followed his eyes as he explored my face, as he ducked down his neck and lowered his body, I could feel his heartbeat, and it was racing just as fast as mine, his breath fell hot and fast on my face before he pressed his lips against mine.

His lips moved passionately and his tongue started moving along my lower lip, begging for entrance. As I parted my lips, his tongue moved with mine. He released his grip on my wrists, allowing my hands to slide up and link behind his head. His body lowered further, propping himself up by his elbows.

I pulled away, catching my bottom lip between my teeth as he rolled off and lay down beside me.

I shifted onto my side, laying my head on my bent elbow; he brushed a small strand of hair away from my face as his smile widened. I allowed my hand to lift up and rest on his cheek, my thumb running along his strong cheek bones.

“Tia…TIAAA!” My mum’s voice shattered me out of my slumber. I smile spread on my lips as I felt Matt’s strong arm around my waist, pressing my back into his chest, his head rested in the crook of my neck. I lifted his arm of me gently, waking him up as we both stood up to face my completely confused looking mother.

“Mum!” I chirped, “You’re home!”

“Yes, well observed honey,” my mum laughed, dropping her bags on the floor, “now come give me a hug.”

I laughed and ran over to her, giving her a massive hug. I had missed her.

“So…” mum flicked a glance towards Matt, “what have I missed?”

“Mum, this is Matt,” I started, feeling his arm slide around my waist from behind, “he’s my…”

I paused, I didn’t know what Matt was to me, and I didn’t know the bounds of our relationship, friends with benefits? Friends?

“Boyfriend, I’m her boyfriend.” Matt stated softly, squeezing my waist gently and smiling down at me. He held his hand out for my mother to shake, “it’s nice to meet you Mrs Daye, and I see where Tia gets her stunning smile from.”

“Call me Maggie,” my mum smiled, I could see she instantly liked matt, “and I don’t shake hands, I hug; get over here!”

Matt laughed and embraced my mum, his big arms engulfing her tiny frame. As he pulled away, a cry came from the nursery, I turned to go and stop the noise but before I could continue, matt grabbed my arm.

“I’ll go,” he offered, “you catch up with your Mum”

I nodded and thanked him before turning and registering my mum’s excited, questioning looks.
