Chapter 3

2 clients down, 1 to go. Jacob. I love my job so much; I first got into fitness about 3 years ago when my dad got moved here, so obviously we came too. I didn’t make many friends in the camp so I decided to join the gym instead. By the time I was 16 I had become fed up with school, everyone was so fake and I had too much energy to be focused in lessons. The teachers used to tell me I was like a Labrador puppy because I was constantly energetic. So as soon as I was old enough I quit school and qualified as a personal trainer. I have never regretted it.

“Hey Tia! You ready to start?” the voice came from behind me, snapping me out of thoughts.

“Yep!” I said, after gathering my thoughts and diverting my eyes away from the twinkle in his bright blue eyes, “ready when you are!”

We chatted as I put him through his paces. He had asked me to up the intensity today, really test his body. I obliged. He was such a great guy and he had an even greater bum! The whole way through the session something didn’t feel right, I felt like I was being watched, but not by Jacob.

“Thanks Tia, that was fantastic! Just what I needed,” Jacob said as our session ended.

“That’s what I’m here for!” I laughed, “Don’t forget to soak and put on compression tights tonight, otherwise you’ll ache like a bitch tomorrow!”

“Yes boss,” he winked, “same time tomorrow?”

I nodded and my eyes followed him as he left the room.

I had a session with Jacob every day for the next week; we grew closer, closer than I get with most of my clients. It was inevitable really, we were similar ages and we had a lot in common. But the feeling clung on to me through every session, I felt like I was being watched.

The next Friday was the last session I had with Jacob; he was back to full fitness.

“Thanks for everything Tia, you’re a star!” he gushed at the end of the session

“Hey, you make it easy,” I winked

“fancy going for a drink?” he asked, butterflies started wrestling in my stomach,” as a way of saying thanks?”

“Yeah, that’d be nice.” I smiled, trying not to sound too eager.

“Sorry, she can’t, she has plans with me tonight” came a voice from behind me. I spun round to see a tall, muscular man with dark brown eyes and hair the same colour, curly on top of his perfectly structured face. I recognised him but I couldn’t think where I had seen him before.

“What? Who are you?” I said, disgust and confusion in my voice.

“Aw baby, don’t be like that!” he replied, slinging a massive arm round my shoulder.

“Is this your boyfriend?” Jacob asked, hurt ringing in his words.

“Yes,” replied the man, before I had a chance to speak.

“NO!” I protested, “Jacob I have no idea who he is!”

“I’ll err…I’ll call you” Jacob spoke quietly before walking out.

I slowly turned to face the man, taller than I remembered. A smile crept across his face, his smug eyes drinking in every drop of my anger.

“What the fuck was that?!” I spat, “who even are you?”

“Matt,” he replied simply.

I sighed in disgust and walked away. I began to clear up the gym, putting away all the equipment that was scattered on the floor. I bent down to pick up a set of dumb bells and heard a groan from behind me, I shot up and spun round, coming face to face with Matt’s hard chest, he grabbed my arms, steadying me as I tried to push myself away from his chest.

“Steady on love, we’ve only just met!” he winked, “unless that’s how you like it.” He pulled me closer to him as I tried to escape his grip, his hips rose slightly to brush against mine. He chuckled and released me. what a sleaze.

“You should leave,” I spat.

“What? But I’m enjoying the view!” He smiled.

“Just get out!” I shouted, my voice going into the stupid squeaky tone it always did when I was angry.

“Ok. Ok. I’ll go,” he finally agreed, “but I’ll be back.”

I let out a sigh of relief as he stepped away from me and picked up his bag from the floor but as he rose back up, one of his arms reached behind me and squeezed my back side, I let out a little squeak.

“Anyone ever told you how hot you look in Lycra?” he winked before turning and walking out.

He made my skin crawl.
