I woke up to four pairs of eyes just staring at me. And then I realized why. I had fallen asleep beside Abel again, our limbs were intertwined as his head was buried in my neck as my arms were wrapped around his shoulders comfortably, hugging each other in our sleep.
But as soon as I noticed that my roommates were probably staring, I sat up, blushing wildly as they gawked at me. They had been whispering to each other before I woke up.
"Who is he?" One of them asked, crossing her arms as she pursed her lips. "June, you know we have a no-overnight-guests rule in our dorm room." They said at full volume as Abel stirred. I looked at him; his strong jaw, his shut eyes, his perfectly tanned skin, the muscles on his unbelievable body.
And on top of that, he had the kindest soul I had ever met. I almost wanted to cry because he made me happier, and more comfortable and fulfilled than any of the fake friendships I'd been able to form lately. I watched him breath, his chest moving up and down, admiring the arms that had held me all night. Last night, all I could recall was staying up and talking to Abel while we drank hot chocolate and watched spongebob. It was quite literally, the most perfect night I had had in a long time. And I guess we had fallen asleep without realizing it because the TV was still on and playing silently in the background.
"I saw him yesterday morning too. Did you sleep with him yesterday night too?" The other roommate asked as my eyes widened. They thought I was a whore.
Dang it, I didn't want them to find out about me until later. Oh well.
"N...no. We didn't do anything. He's just my friend." I stuttered as Abel's eyes slowly opened. He was so beautiful at all times, but especially in the morning when his amber-gray ambiguous colored eyes sparkled.
"June, what time is it?" He mumbled as I signaled to him that my roommates were here, "oh, we have an audience." He laughed, wiping his eyes sleepily as his biceps bulged with each movement. I couldn't keep my eyes off of him.
"Yes." One of the girls, who had seemed so confident in her anger earlier, seemed to turn into mush when he looked at her. Oh the power that a beautiful man holds.
I rolled my eyes. A beautiful man who was my first actual friend at this college.
"I'm sorry, I have no excuse for what I did. If it makes you uncomfortable, I won't let him into this room again." I said as my roommates eyed me warily and shock appeared on Abel's face. I wondered what could possibly be going through their minds right now. They seemed awfully quiet as Abel stood up, stretching his long, strong body.
I'm sure we were all staring as long as he was sharing.
"Uh... I mean, you said he's just your friend right? I guess we can make this an exception since the rule was specifically toward boys who are your boyfriends. I mean I think it's fine, right Yuki; it was just to prevent doing the deed in here. So we can keep this place sacred and whatever." One girl said as the other one nodded. They seemed nervous, like little hamsters as they spoke quickly.
"Yeah, we just didn't want one of us to make babies in here," Yuki laughed nervously, "but I mean, um," she said nervously as her eyes trailed down Abel's abs toward the small line of hair that led to the top of his black sweatpants.
"Yeah, he can come anytime. I mean Yuki and I are hardly here at night anyway." She said.
Oh what power you hold, Abel.
It was funny to think that handsome men were more objectified than I was. And all he had to do was take off his shirt.
"Oh... okay?" I smiled as Abel and I shared a knowing look.
