“Here’s your coffee, Mr. Kim.” You handed over the coffee you had brewed over to the customer, as he thanked you before leaving the counter. 

“I see that you’ve gotten the hang of being a barista, Y/N.” Minji said, as she came over to you. 

“Thanks, noona.” You thanked her, before seeing Yujin come through the front door.

“Choi Yujin! You’re late!” She told her.

“Sorry, unnie! I had to take care of some stuff earlier. Y/N can you please wait for a bit longer? I need to place my stuff first on the back.”

“Sure.” She smiled, as you watched her go through the back door. Minutes later, she came out and told you to take a break. You went over to the break room, after brewing yourself a coffee. You were slowly getting sleepier, having slept late after playing games on your console.

A phone call soon went onto your phone, as you yawned before answering the call.

“Y/N! Are you on your break right now?” Your girlfriend called you.

“Yuqi-ah! Thank God you called me. I was actually about to fall asleep, had you not called me just now.”

“You… almost fell asleep? Y/N. Did you stay up late again last night?”

Whoops.

“I-I didn’t! I swear!”

“Then what time did you sleep in? And don’t you dare lie to me.” She threatened. And despite knowing that you’re able to lie to her in order to escape her wrath, you didn’t. 

“*sigh* At 3…”

“…I see that you didn’t heed my advice.” She sounded disappointed in you.

“Look babe, I-“

“Can’t you just listen to me and sleep early for once, Y/N? What would I do if anything were to happen to you?” The vibration within her voice showed how afraid she was of losing you, making you feel more guilty than you were. 

“I-I’m sorry. I’ll sleep earlier tonight, alright? Though I need to finish my projects first, before doing so.”

“Promise? ‘cause I’ll know if you don’t. I’ll fly over and kick you on the back.”

Her threat made you chuckle, before you gave her your promise.

“Can you at least take a quick nap? You can do that, right? Please?”

She pleaded, and there was no way for you to reject her request.

“I will.”

“Now go. I’ll call you again later at night. Love you.”

“Love you too.” You closed the phone call, before resting your head on the desk.

“Wouldn’t it be nice if Yuqi were to show up out of nowhere? That’ll definitely make my mood go up through the roof.”

You imagined, though most unlikely it was going to happen. Yuqi had gone back to her home country, meeting her family whom she hadn't seen in a year. 

It was already the second month ever since she left, yet she was still unable to give you an exact date of when she’d exactly be back. When she was there, you’d mostly spend your days with her. And since she’s currently back at her own place, you’d just roll around in your apartment, feeling lonely and desperate for her.

You started yearning for her presence after about two weeks, and the feeling grew more and more as days went by. Her laughs, her whimpers, you missed everything about her. You started thinking of the days where you’d walk on dates and have lunch with her, before falling asleep on the cold desk.

Time skip

“I’m home.” You said whilst opening the door to your place, walking inside before it automatically locked.

You laid on the sofa, feeling tired after working for the day. The nap you had in your workplace was definitely not enough, and you thought that you needed more of it. 

“Just for five minutes…” You told yourself, resting your arm on top of your eyes. Just then, a ringing sound came from your door, as you wondered who it could be.

You walked over, peeking through the peephole before opening it in an instant. 

“Tada!! I’m back!” She said, before sliding her luggage inside the door. You were stunned after seeing your girlfriend in front of your door, without even telling you that she was going to be back today.

“Hello? Y/N? Hello~. Yuqi to Y/N?” She waved her hands back and forth from your eyes. After realizing that this was not a dream, you immediately pulled her inside, closing the door before giving her a tight hug.

“Y-Y/N?!” She called.

“I-I missed you so much. I know it hasn’t been a long time ever since we last saw each other, but I really missed you. You don’t know how much I’ve been longing for you to come back.”

“What’re you, a baby?” She joked, before feeling her tears seeping down your shoulder. You felt her hands going to your back, pulling your shirt tighter as she moved herself closer to you.

“Yuqi? Are you crying?”

“I-I’m not! These are just sweat coming out of my eyes.” She denied, even though it was obvious that it wasn’t.

“I missed you too, Y/N. I missed you a lot.”
