In the center of the room, a girl stared blankly at her favorite TV show, seemingly unaffected by the humor that usually made people laugh.

The other girls had already succumbed to sleep, taking advantage of an early rest they hadn't had in a while. However, Liz couldn't shake the thoughts occupying her mind, preventing her from finding peace in her sleep.

Deep in her thoughts, Liz's frown deepened as she curled up on the sofa, tears escaping her eyes.

"Y/N..."

_______
A few days earlier...

On the day of a photoshoot for their comeback, Liz anxiously checked her phone for notifications, a concerned expression etched on her face. Rei, noticing her distress, approached her.

"What's wrong, Jiwon-ah? You don't look too good," Rei asked.

"Every morning, I usually get a text from Y/N, but there wasn't any when I woke up. Look." Liz showed her phone, revealing their last conversation from the previous night.

"Maybe he has an emergency? Y/N's not the kind of person to leave you hanging," Rei reassured, patting Liz's back.

"I know. But I can't help but worry. What if something happened to him?"

"Hey, don't say that. I'm sure he'll text you soon. Be patient, okay?" Rei consoled, and Liz nodded, placing her phone on the desk.

The next day brought no relief as Liz received no text from Y/N.

"Rei, something's wrong. He hasn't texted me since yesterday, and I've heard nothing about him." Liz's voice trembled with fear.

Rei, equally puzzled, knew Y/N wouldn't ghost his girlfriend. "Have you tried calling him?" Liz shook her head, and Rei attempted to call Y/N, but the call was redirected.

"I can't take this. Should I just—"

"Jiwon-ah, I know what you're thinking, but we can't. We have schedules to follow, and we can't ditch them. Let's focus on our work for now, okay?"

________

"Oppa... where are you..."

Her body shook as a bell rang, signaling someone at their apartment. Peeking through the door's peephole, Liz's eyes widened.

Opening the door, she was met with an unexpected figure—Y/N, breathless.

"Jiwon-ah... I—"

Without a word, Liz pulled him inside, closing the door behind her. Worry and relief mingled in her gaze.

"I'm sorry for not contacting you. My phone fell into water, and the repair is taking longer than expected. I—"

His words were cut off by a hug, Liz sobbing into his chest.

"I thought I lost you, Y/N. I was afraid you found someone else or had an accident."

Guilt washed over him as he comforted her, "I'm sorry I made you worry. And I'm sorry for being late with your birthday celebration. I got this cake before coming. Luckily, a nearby baker was still open."

She glanced at the cake, snuggling back into his chest. "Thank you. Thank you, oppa."

Liz's emotions flowed as she embraced him, grateful for his unexpected return and the birthday surprise. The weight of worry lifted, and the room felt warmer with their rekindled connection.
