Chapter 17 First Quest Complete

- couple weeks later-

"What? Campfire sing alongs not doing it for you Jesse?"
Grover asked and i shook my head.
"Not really no. I'm still getting my faculties back."
"Meaning?"
"Meaning I'm still getting everything from everyone. Not nearly like in the Underworld or Lotus Casino. Right now I'm still practicing focusing."
"You seemed pretty calm when we were out in the general public. How far is your range?"
"We had a potentially world ending task to complete and focus on. I didn't exactly have time to focus on emotions that much at any capacity. It's kinda akin to being on a highway. You're speeding towards a destination and you don't pay too much attention to anything except the road. And yes."
"Yes?"
"I have yes range. If I don't focus, I get everything from everyone and everything. Gives me a raging headache."
"Well...sounds like you got a head full."
"Ah ha ha, very funny," I retorted sarcastically as I looked up at him. Grover grinned back and patted my back as he walked away.
"See you around man."
"Yeah, see you around."
I sighed as I got to my feet, dusting myself.
"Where're you going?"
Andy asked as he walked up.
"Uhhh I was gonna head back to....wait. I don't have a cabin do I?" I asked despite knowing the answer.
"Yeah...about that. You actually do. My mom said you're welcome in hers."
"...Of course she did." I muttered with a half grin.
"So...?"
"So what? Something up?"
"Not necessarily. Just curious what you're plan is?"
"What do you mean?"
"You don't exactly have a family to return to Jesse, and uh I don't know if Chiron and Mr. D are gonna let you stay here after the summer."
I was silent for a bit after his words, he's right.
"Yeah. Uhm...I don't. You're right. Wow that's depressing."
"Wow..." Andy said sounding like he couldn't believe something. Something he found highly amusing too. I looked at him in return and felt myself blink.
"What?"
"You could always ask you're boyfriend...who does have a place to stay..."
"Oh...yeah. I guess I could yeah. Um Andy can I..."
"Yes you may Jesse," he said pulling me close by my lower waist before I could finish my sentence.
"Thank you," I mutter quietly looking away with what feels like flaming cheeks.
"You're so cute when you're embarrassed Jess."
Andy kissed my forehead and hugged me close before letting go and walking away.
That's right...he's my island. My world. I can focus on him...and damn does my world look good.
I felt myself bite my bottom lip as I watched him walk away.
