She quickly gathered all the dirt and moisture from her into a
<Dirt Ball> and discarded it. Once again looking nice and clean. Running her fingers through her long white hair and straightening her clothes out. She glanced back at the snoozing Tiger and smirked to herself. The class should just be about starting now, he should wake up soon. She walked quickly to the outside class area and got back just as everyone Began to sit down.
She moved through the isle and found an empty seat next to Pat, sitting down quietly; the cat looked up at her with a curious expression. Clearly, she just now realized Alona had been gone.
Everyone was just meandering about before the Professor began his lecture. Straightening their pens and papers.
But shockingly and rather quickly. The Panther jock burst out of the school doors. Huffing and turning bright red.
"Damien's asleep in the back fields and he won't wake up." His face immediately turned to Alona and everyone's heads whipped around to stare at her.
The Professor who was just organizing his desk looked up and scowled. Dropping something with a loud clatter as he focused his attention on her.
Another student spoke from somewhere,
"I saw The Witch leave and Damien left after." They affirmed. The Black Bear man looked livid.
"This fucking Witch." He stomped up to her and grabbed her arm, squeezing hard.
The strength of a Bear was incredible. She struggled as he dragged her out of the chair, knocking it over, bringing her to the front of the class.
"I knew it was stupid to let you come here." He spat out.
The Panther and another jock, a Cheetah, came up and grabbed her arms to keep her still and the professor began ranting about how Damien was their best Line Backer, how DARE she curse him?
She looked for the eyes of her so-called friend's. But they all looked away from her. Their place in the social system was more important than sticking their neck out for her.
Alona found Pat's face, and a stricken expression crossed her feline features. She wanted to help. But it was clear she wouldn't do a damn thing.
None of them would.
The Bears anger escalated as he yelled loudly in her face about being evil and unnatural. Then drawing his hand back, the man's massive palm came down like a hammer and slapped her face with full force.
The impact made the jocks drop her. She crumpled to her knees on the ground. Tears prickling her big eyes. She had a high pain tolerance, but this shit stung. Her nose even trickled a little blood. She must look pathetic. Good.
She held her reddening cheek and was shaking like a leaf. Looking like an absolute weakling. A tear or two rolled down her face silently, but she didn't sob. The Witch made sure to stare off in Disbelief. Like she was in shock.
Everyone was dead silent, the cold eyes of the crowd looked upon her, emotionless. Their lack of empathy really ate at her conscience. Herbivores were so loving and sweet. But this city was a cold jungle. No one would stand up for anyone here. These people were complacent with her abuse.
The doors opened again, and everyone turned. Murmuring to each other slightly.
Damien was yawning and walking out of the school like he'd just had the best sleep of his life.
He looked up, seeing the pitiful scene before him, his expression becoming confused.
"I was napping. what's going on?" He grumbled out sleepily. The students started to murmur and looked back at the little rabbit. Still stricken down.
After an awkward moment, the Professor grumbled and cleared his throat.
"Well then, that's settled with. We should carry on." He didn't even apologize or look at her. The jocks sat down, and everyone Began taking out books and pencils. Damien stared at her, only for a second, before sitting down with his group.
Alona silently stood, her legs shaking. As she began to walk out, Pat reached for her apologetically, but she kept walking, past everyone and past the doors.
Fuck Pat. She was just a gofer for Michelle. And Michelle was just a big fish in a mid-sized pond. How pathetic.
Alona made her mind up.
She WAS going to spare the girls from her tricks. But now she saw them for what they were, no better than any of these other damn Carnivores. Only looking out for themselves. How cruel.... She thought for a second they were actually her friends. How naive of her.
The Bunny found herself missing Peace Town. All the kind and caring people. The safety. Her heart ached a bit.
Maybe she really should've just been bored in an apartment by herself. But Alona wanted something deeper. she needed this chaos. she needed to experience this city for what it was. Because that's what her Coven Sisters had gone through.
They had been abused every time they came here. Severe bullying. lunches tampered with. Their stuff pissed on. They were punched and kicked when the teachers weren't looking. Her mentor told her all about it.
Even outside of the College and in the very streets. They'd have to face vicious people, and heinous hate crimes. It was the way of this place.
The older Witch even emphasized how she never ran. She wouldn't let herself run, even though it screamed inside her. None of the other Witches had.
It was a point of pride for them. Why had Alona run? Maybe, deep down, she just wanted to see what would happen?
She shook her head to clear her jumbled thoughts. She was here to do a job. But before she could, she needed to survive for these 10 months; preferably without people starting a hate mob to rip her apart.
Unfortunately, she learned this lesson today, the hard way. If something odd happens.
she's the very first suspect.
