Damien could feel Lucid just behind him. His broad shoulders squared and rigid.
He was always so wound up and ready to dive headfirst into blind madness. Just on the brink. Teetering ever so slightly. He had incredible control considering how much he held back. But it wasn't enough to make him likable.
That's what Lucid thought of him. And the Black Jaguar was quite smart, so he knew he understood the Tiger correctly, he'd been fighting with him for 2 years at least.
Lucid was in all honors classes and working to become a Chemist. Sponsored as the apprentice to top professors in the school.
From what they recovered of the Ancient Old Ones relics, the study of chemicals was far more advanced before their disappearance, like all things. And although some such creations have been banned. Many were recreated to help the lives of all animals under The Great Mammal Alliance.
His goal was to impress his father and return home with something to be proud of. That's why he never missed classes and didn't care too much for the rat race these guys fixated on. Although he understood their obsession. At least his interest wasn't all about sex.... not like it mattered anyway, she'd be gone in only a couple of months. His chest felt heavy for a second, but it was fleeting. He didn't acknowledge the feeling at all.
Sometimes when his mind went blank, he could see her. Her alluring figure, her expressions. It was so odd too him how much his mind just brought her up out of nowhere. It even annoyed him sometimes. He'd go for long walks and find himself behind the girl's dorm. Hoping deep down to run into her.
The Jaguar was just trying to have fun. He didn't want to get invested. Especially not with her. She was too tangled up between the three of them. Too delicious to let go of or resist their urges for. He knew Damien and Brutus would never stop this game.
Most of all, he was frustrated she'd got away before he could have her.
He deserved it just as much as the other two. He'd waited, and now he'd have to wait more. He should have just taken her first. But Damien would've started the barrage of challenges that Lucid despised dealing with. She was something new and exciting, something submissive and weak. And adding how beautiful she was on top of that made for a deadly combination.
Lucid really wanted to be nice. But how could he compete if he was? If those two were going to do it anyway, then he'd just be missing out. That was the excuse he kept saying. The man would admit that he is just as horrible as them if you asked. But deep down he felt a tinge of remorse. Even if he blinded his awareness to it with firm denial.
They saw the lights of the garage from far off and Damien grumbled loudly. He hated coming here. It reminded him of all the fights he'd had with the Wolf. As they grew closer to the lights, they heard the rustling and scuffling of the tree line. Young wolves sniffing and tracking their every move. No doubt Brutus already knew of their arrival. As if on cue the Massive Wolf swung the large metal door up effortlessly and held his arms out in a welcoming gesture, a wicked smile on his face.
"I had a feeling I'd see you two soon!" He barked arrogantly and crossed his arms, the Wolf pack swarming around them, just beyond the trees and out of sight ominously. After a moment of tense silence, he chuckled and yelled out.
"Alright! ALRIGHT! Everybody leave. Come back in 30min. This won't take long." He called out the order. And shuffling paws quickly faded far off into the distance. No questions asked. Damien rolled his eyes. Lucid just quietly observed the situation.
"Come closer kitty's, don't be shy." The patronizing tone made both cats bristle as they stalked forward. Damien grumbling loudly.
"Just get to the point Brutus. We don't want to be here as much as you don't want us here." He sighed out. Trying to let go of his anger for once. The Wolf's eyebrows quirked in surprise.
