Auris rode for a while into the city. Despite knowing it wasn't real. The image of a poor Rabbit. Wounded and broken. Throwing herself into a violent waterfall. Wasn't easy to think about. And he was worried about The Witch. Her expressions looked so painful and real.
But as if the thought summoned her. A thud, banged on the roof. And the door swung open.
Alona, in her underwear. But dry. Also completely healed. Only a scar on her shoulder remained. Her body was unmarred. Nothing could be seen anymore.
The Polar Bear was speechless. It was like seeing a ghost, even though he knew he'd see her again. Just not so.... put together? or so soon. She shut the door and moved in on him. Straddling him and reaching into his pants pockets. Making him blush. Putting his hands up, eyes wide.
"Hey, hey, hey.... hey! What are you doing? Alona I don't...." But she laughed and shushed him.
"Shh, be quiet. I know you don't want me." She muttered and to his utter confusion she pulled out clothes from HIS pockets. Sliding on a flowy black tank top and a dark purple skirt. He sputtered as she stood up. And reached into the skirt pockets to pull out a joint.
"What....what?! What did you just do? I understand you're magical, but can you at least explain shit when you do it? I feel like I'm losing my mind." He complained. Shaking his head and blinking at her. And she smiled wide.
"Its an enchantment." Alona splayed out her palm. And to Auris surprise there was a tiny symbol tattooed under her middle finger. She shrugged.
"No one knows about it. I made it. I can reach into MY pocket. From any pocket or sleave. Lots of stuff is in there, it's a sub space." He nodded. Sort of understanding what she meant. Putting his hands in his pockets and feeling nothing.
"And what do you mean I don't want you? What makes you think that?" He looked genuinely curious, and Alona rolled her eyes.
"I don't think you like me Auris. I'm not conceited enough to believe everyone would. I might be pretty but. I think... eventually... everyone will hate me. Or maybe not understand me." She looked at him. And it was strange to witness a genuine sadness, rather than the one she had acted out. It hit him so deeply. It made her earlier performance evidently more fake in hindsight. Alona was utterly mesmerizing.
"Never. Alona, you could've actually ended the world and I wouldn't hate you. I don't think anyone could." He smiled and rubbed the back of his head.
"And it's not that I don't like you ... I've actually been meaning to ask you. If you know a brown Rabbit with glasses." He muttered. And he felt the air grow cold, glancing up at her. She looked Icey. And he gulped. Eyes widening.
"Why do you ask?" She sounded so hostile. And leaned forward. Auris again putting his hands up.
"I... I don't like you cause I'm gay! I like you as a friend a lot though. I only ask cause.... I met him a bit ago at the Embassy... in the hallway. I just really.... wanted to know who he was. And.... I don't want to assume all rabbits know each other but...." She paused and looked dumbfounded for a moment before she laughed hard and grabbed her stomach. Sitting down on the bench across from him and laying back, kicking her feet.
"Auris... Auris you're too funny! Thats my brother!!" She bellowed and he turned red. Eyes wide with surprise.
"WHA, HE....He looks nothing like you!!" He argued. Sputtering, and Alona wheezed, laughing a bit too hard. Making him feel a bit dumb.
"That's Meeko. He's my older brother, he looks more like my mom. He lives in The Grove though, so if you do really like him.... you'd have to become an ambassador to even see him." Alona reasoned with him, letting him know that pursuing her brother would be a labor among other tribulations.
"Also, if you give into instinct and kill him, I'd probably be corrupted." She shrugged. Nonchalant about the matter. But under the surface the level of severity was very clear. Auris gulped. Becoming an ambassador would take 3 to 4 years. He didn't even know if the Rabbit man would like him back.
Sighing he nodded. And for the rest of the ride, he was deep in thought. Alona staring off into space. A smirk on her lips.
They reached the warehouse, and she busted out, running into the building and waving as she ran up to Sloan, flopping in her lap. The Gorgeous Polar Bear woman was looking down at her with a big smile.
"You look nice all healed up, and happy too. Is it done?" She asked and Alona giggled and shook her head, her white hair shifting across her.
"Well when I actually show up to renew the Barrier, I'm sure it'll be even more delicious." Her devilish smile spread out and Sloan patted her head. Nodding.
"Anyone I need to beat up?" Alona asked. And Sloan shook her head and scoffed.
"Strangely it's been quiet. Like no one knows yet." And Alona laughed, instantly realizing why. Making the Polar Bear tilt her head.
"We got beat up by a Rabbit!!" She mockingly said and grabbed her ears, pulling them down as she looked up and stuck her tongue out. Making Sloan laugh.
"Don't worry. Soon the whole city will know. And anyone who wants to fuck around and find out." She gave Sloan a devious look. Her eyes faintly glowing.
"They'll find the fuck out."
