Chapter 14~ Chamber

Y/N RIDDLE POV:

We are sitting in the hospital wing next to Hermione. I start holding her hand and find a crumpled up paper. I unfold it.

"Guys, this is why Hermione was in the library the day she was attacked, come on." I say walking out of the hospital wing.

"Of the many beasts that roam our land, nothing is more deadly than the basilisk. Capable of living for hundreds of years, instant death awaits any who meet this giant serpents eye. Spiders flee before it. Guys this is it. The snake in the chamber is a basilisk." I read the paper.

"but if it kills by looking people in the eye, why has no one died yet" Ron asked. I think for a moment about all of the attacks.

"Because no one has looked in the eye." I state.

"If you think about it, no one looked directly in its eye. Colin saw it though his camera, Justin probably saw it through Nearly Headless Nick, and Hermione saw it through the mirror." I explain.

"What about Mrs. Norris? She didn't have a camera or a mirror." Ron says.

"The water, it was on the floor that day. She must have saw it in the reflection." Harry says.

"It all fits" I say rereading the paper to myself.

"but how has no one seen a huge snake in the halls. How is it getting around?" Ron says. I look down at the paper and show it to the boys.

"Hermione's answered that too" I say pointing to 'pipes' that is handwritten on the paper.

"It's using the plumbing!?" Ron shouted looking around. Then we hear an announcement.

"All students are to return to their dormitories at once, all teachers to the second floor corridor immediately." We all look at each other and make a run for the second floor corridor making sure not to be seen. Once we get there we see writing on the wall.

"The heir of Slytherin has left another message" Professor Mcgonagall says.

"A student has been taken by the monster into the chamber, students must be sent home. This is the end for Hogwarts" I hear her continue. I see Lockhart walk up to the rest of the teachers.

"What have I missed?" He asks.

"It seems your moment has come, a girl has been snatched into the chamber. Since you've known all along that you know where the entrance to the chamber is located." I hear Snape say.

"It's settled then, you will deal with the monster, Gilderoy. Since your skills are legend." Mcgonagall says. Lockhart looks scared to say the least but recovers.

"Very well, I'll be getting ready in my office." He says rushing to his office.

"Who has the monster taken?" I hear the nurse ask.

"Ginny Weasley" I gasp and so does Ron. Finally we can read what's on the wall after the teachers walk away.

"Her skeleton will lie in the chamber forever" Ron reads.

"Ginny...." Ron says, we all rush to Lockharts office to tell him the information we know. We walk in and see that he's... packing up?

"Are you going somewhere?" I ask.

"I-I, well yes. Um... urgent call, got to go." He says stuttering.

"What about my sister!?" Ron shouts.

"Well um. That's most unfortunate, no one regrets more than I." He says still packing up.

"Your the Defense against the dark arts teacher, you can't go now!" Ron explains.

"Well when I signed up there was nothing in the the job description about-" he gets cut off my Harry.

"You're running away!? After what you did in your books!" Harry says.

"Harry he didn't do what he did in the books, he stole the stories. Their stories were something other people have done, I do however know that he is very good at memory charms. That's why no one has confessed about him and his books being a fraud. He wipes their memory." I say.

"Correct you are Y/n and I'm going to have to do the same with yo-" he says reaching for his wand but we beat him to it.

"Don't. even. think about it." I say. He drops his wand and we go to Moaning Myrtles bathroom.

"Who's there? Oh, hello Harry." she says shyly.

Barf.

"What do you want" she says coldly.

"Do you know where the chamber of secrets entrance is located?" I ask softly trying not to threaten her.

"I don't know but all I remember was that I died in this bathroom, the last thing I saw was two big yellow eyes by that sink." She says pointing to a sink. Harry looks at it and tries to find something. When he gets to the faucet he notices something.

"This is it, this is the entrance to the chamber of secrets"

Oh my god guys I'm going to murder the next chapter. I wanted to end it there because SUSPENSE. Anyways this is the shortest chapter I've wrote so far. Lots of love.
