"Go away Janus." Virgil groaned after hearing a knock on his door. "Actually, it's Roman." Roman's voice said through the door. "Oh..." Virgil muttered before walking over to the door and opening it, seeing Roman standing at the door. "Hey Princey, what's up?" Virgil greeted, leaning against the door frame. "I wanted to thank you for telling me about Janus. I should have known that little snake was up to something." Roman sighed before entering the room. Virgil didn't stop him, but he watched Roman cautiously as he looked around.
"No problem. It was the least I could do after getting everyone involved in the first place." Virgil admitted as Roman picked up a small journal on Virgil's bed. "Hey, don't go snooping in my things." Virgil snapped, standing straighter before approaching Roman. "Why? You went through mine." Roman replied with a mischievous grin.
"Roman," Virgil began in a threatening tone, which only caused Roman's cocky smile to grow. "Is this your diary or something Virge?" Roman asked, holding it out of Virgil's reach. "Give it back!" Virgil demanded before attempting to grab at it. "You'll have to catch me first!" Roman cheered before sinking away. Virgil swore under his breath before sinking down as well, eyes full of rage as he appeared next to Roman.
However his rage turned to confusion when he saw it wasn't Roman he rose next to, but Janus, who was handing back his journal to him. "I just needed to get you here." Janus admitted as Virgil grabbed the journal. Janus sank down again before Virgil could question him, and as he processed the decorated area around him, Remus charged in, Roman chasing after him. "Remus give it back!" Roman shouted as Remus ran into the room with a folder. "Run, run, as fast as you bother! You can't catch me, I'm the man behind the slaughter!" Remus shouted joyfully before throwing the folder into the air and disappearing.
Roman leapt up to grab the script, Virgil bursting into laughter as Roman fell to the ground. "Ugh... What was that about?" Roman muttered as Virgil walked over. "Apparently we have been lured into a trap of some kind." Virgil sighed, offering a hand to help Roman up. "Great..." Roman groaned as he accepted the hand and was helped up.
Roman only looked more confused as he examined the room they were in, which looked sort of like Thomas's high school prom, only without any people. That last bit was until a spotlight shone over the stage and all other lights went out, leading Virgil and Roman to focus on the stage as Janus appeared on it. "Gentlemen, welcome both to a spectacular evening hosted by myself, the Lord of the Lies. I don't hope you'll enjoy yourselves this evening." Janus greeted before aiming purple and red spotlights towards the two.
Roman and Virgil shared flustered looks of confusion as Janus snapped his fingers and put them both in suits matching their colour schemes. "You'll be joined in a moment by another couple." Janus went on before waving his hand and forcing the two of them closer together. "Enjoy your moment alone while Remus and I fetch them." He concluded before sinking down, Roman and Virgil blushing as they both tried to decide whether or not to step back.
"Is... Is Janus trying to set us up on a date?" Virgil muttered before stepping back and looking down at his suit. Roman admired Virgil's outfit for a moment before snapping out of it and scratching the back of his head. "Uh... I don't know... I don't know why he would." Roman murmured, debating in how he'd murder or thank Janus depending on how this went. Virgil paused, examining Roman for a moment before sighing. "I might have an idea of why." He muttered, looking away as he lazily offered a hand to Roman.
Roman looked at Virgil blankly, and Virgil hissed before offering his hand more forcefully. When Roman still didn't understand, he growled and pinched the bridge of his nose with his other hand. "I'm asking you to dance, moron." He huffed, causing Roman's eyes to light up as he accepted the hand. "Well, you should have just said so, Emo." Roman snickered, causing Virgil to blush as Roman pulled him in and wrapped an arm around his waist. "Shut up before I change my mind." Virgil warned, rolling his eyes but smiling as he placed his free hand on Roman's shoulder and followed Roman's lead.
Meanwhile, Logan and Patton were having an argument in the living room. Or, rather, Logan was having an argument, and Patton was ignoring him. "Patton, I don't know what I did to upset you, but please talk to me. No solution to whatever problem occurred can be reached unless we communicate about it." Logan sighed, one hand in his hip as the other gestured along to his words. Patton stayed silent, looking away from Logan as he uncharacteristically smirked. Logan, frustrated, turned to walk away.
"Fine, if you need space I'll leave you be... Just please tell me what's wrong when you're ready to." Logan sighed before heading out of the kitchen. "Logan, wait." Patton called, his smirk fading into a pleading look as he turned to face the angry nerd. "So now you want to talk." Logan sighed, turning back to Patton. "I'm sorry... I... I just don't know how to explain it... Could we go somewhere else?" Patton explained, putting the dish he was washing away before approaching Logan. "Fine. Where did you have in mind?" Logan asked.
Patton simply sank down, and Logan took in a deep breath to calm down before following. When he rose, he was confused to see Roman and Virgil dancing, the song that he and Patton had danced to in Roman's fan fiction playing. He looked beside him to see not Patton, but Janus, smirking proudly as Logan felt anger bubble up inside of him.
"What are you up to, Janus?" Logan demanded. "Oh, nothing... Not anymore at least, I finished my goal. Remus, on the other hand, is leading Patton here." Janus answered. "Patton... Wait... That wasn't Patton in the kitchen, was it?" Logan demanded. "Now you're getting it." Janus chuckled before disappearing, leaving Logan to growl in frustration.
Logan's attention was drawn away from his anger when Remus appeared in the room, Patton appearing beside him. "Remus please don't, I promise I'll-" Patton pleaded, pausing before looking around the room. "Why are we at Thomas's prom?" Patton asked as Remus pulled him over to Logan. "Logan! Patton has something to tell you!" Remus called, pushing Patton towards Logan before disappearing. "I- no I don't." Patton insisted, blushing brightly.
Logan sighed as he registered what was happening, watching Roman and Virgil dance for a moment, and ignoring Patton's nervous rambling as he needlessly insisted that Remus was making things up. "Yes Patton, I'm sure he was. Perhaps we could discuss something else?" Logan offered, and Patton nodded, relief washing over him.
Janus smirked as he and Remus watched from the shadows, snapping his fingers and putting Patton and Logan into suits as well. "I- Oh these are cool!" Patton stated, looking at the suits with a puzzled look before becoming excited. He then quickly became puzzled again, noticing Logan was smiling at him. Logan quickly corrected the smile, blushing slightly as he looked away. "Wait... Logan, is this a date?" Patton asked, his tone hopeful.
"I'm not sure, to be honest... but... since we're here..." Logan muttered, still looking away as he formally offered his hand to Patton, who immediately accepted it. "We might as well-" Logan began before getting pulled in by Patton. "Are you asking me to dance?" Patton asked excitedly, and Logan stammered as Patton held Logan's hand and placed the free one on his shoulder. "Yes... Yes I suppose I am." Logan as he hesitantly placed a hand on Patton's waist and began to cautiously move along to the music. Patton giggled happily as they danced, and Logan, despite his best efforts to prevent it, smiled as happiness washed over him.
Logan's stiff demeanour relaxed as he danced with Patton, and Virgil's nonchalant attitude became more nervous as he danced with Roman. None of the four admitted what they were feeling, but at this point, they hardly needed to. There was a mutual understanding on all sides, and too nervous to ruin the moment, they silently embraced the understanding.
"Think that we'll finally get some peace around here now that all this tension is resolved?" Janus asked Remus as they watched from the sidelines. "Probably not." Remus admitted with a shrug. "Yes, you're probably right... Still, I'd consider this moment a success, wouldn't you?" Janus decided before pulling out two champagne glasses and handing one to Remus.
"A toast, to so called happily ever after." Janus then cheered, clinking glasses with Remus before sipping from his glass. Remus, however, ate his glass whole, chewing on the shattered glass as Janus stared at him in disgusts. "What?" Remus asked innocently as Janus rolled his eyes and focused on watching the others, feeling pride in his accomplishment.
