Walking Magic around the ring, she stretched her long legs. She was considerably shorter than Keller, but was still a large mare.
"Trot" Logan called out.
"Ok girl" I called to the mare.
Squeezing her sides, she hopped into a bouncy trot. It was much shorter than Kellers, but I found the rhythm soon enough. She had a very light mouth, and kept a headset the whole time around. I circled her a few times, and she bent around my leg with ease.
"Go ahead and reverse, cause she seems good this way" Logan said after a while of trotting to the left.
I went across the diagonal, and sat for an extra beat. She snorted when I asked her to slow down so I could try to sit to her floaty trot.
I sat deep in my saddle and tried a few dressage moves. Lengthening and shorting, half passes, lead changes, and much more. She responded with ease the whole time.
I walked her and looked at Logan setting up some jumps.
"She's really great on the flat. Dressage is definitely her good side" Logan told me.
"Yea, she's great. I love her already!"
"Ha!" Logan laughed "Well all I can say is to watch your self jumping, she will buck if you don't have a good feel on her mouth"
"Ok" I grumbled.
Circling her at the canter, we started towards the cross rail. Keeping Logan's advice, I kept her in check. She found a distance and took off over the short jump.
Doing a roll back, we were off to the next two foot jump. The blinding green didn't effect Magic, and she pushed off the ground and landed with a snort. Heading down the line, a three foot Oxer was waiting for us. I extended her stride, and kept a good feel in her mouth. Finding the long distance, she flew up in the air.
"Lean back!" I heard Logan call.
As soon as we landed I leaned back and she let out a buck.
We rounded a corner, and were approaching a four foot vertical. The perfect distance lay ahead of us, and she rocked back on her haunches, and tucked her knees under her. We landed with a light poof, and I circled her and went down to a trot then walk.
"That was amazing! That last jump was great! I think your ready, and so is she!" He smiled.
I got off, and walked the sweaty mare in.
"Logan!" I heard a sharp voice call out.
"I didn't know you were untraining your horse." Jax smirked.
"Oh hi to you too" I grimaced.
"I thought you weren't trying out." Jax stomped behind me.
"I let her use Magic" Logan interrupted.
"Yea, if you had any sense you would have seen that she's actually amazing in that mare. But you know, you don't have any" Katherine remarked.
I slowly untacked Magic, and she didn't have a drop of swat on her shiny coat.
"Oh well, if it isn't little Kitty!" Jax laughed out.
"Don't call me that!" She yelled at the girl.
"Oh what ever. Just because you are daddy's little girl and can ride his colt doesn't mean your miss amazing." Just then Abigail came in and faced Logan, Katherine, and I.
"What ever. I'm out of here." Katherine said and was out of the barn.
"Well, I'm putting this girl out Logan and then I'm going to check up on Kell and I'm going to head to the dorms" I said as I lead the mare out.
I unhaltered her and she ran into the field after a heard of horses.
I walked back to the barn, and let my self in to see my boy.
"Hey, how you doing?" I asked him.
He nickered a response. Giving him carrots, I walked out of his stall and to my dorm.
Logan was no where to be seen, so I made my way across campus. Letting my self in, the cool air swept by me. I made my way to the stairs and walked in my dorm.
"Hey! I heard all about your little plan to ride Magic! Tell me all about it!" Scarlet prodded as she spun around on her chair.
"Well-" I started as I took off my boots.
