Chapter 14: Wow

"Come with me Ms. Jenson" Mr. Odell command.

I quickly got up and started to walk beside of him, fiddling with my fingers. People watched us in silence as we left and made our way out side of the cafeteria. The sun was hot, and I was hoping the air conditioning was on in the barn and in the rings.

"Don't be so nervous! I have a few horses for you to try out!" He started to laugh. "Your trainer found a few and your mom wanted you to try these. We think that we have the perfect match."

"I have my riding clothes at the dorm, should I go change?" I asked before we made out our to the cross roads of the side walk.

"Yes, yes do that." He nodded, and walked off briskly.

I started to jog to my dorm, and rushed inside. There was nobody to be seen, not even the dorm monitor. I unlocked my door and walked into my home away from home.
Quickly changing into my fawn breeches and a royal blue polo, I grabbed my phone and white show polo with me and was on my way to the barn.

When I got there, I saw a beautiful rose gray 16 hand Thoroughbred waiting for me in the ring.

"We have two horses for you to try. This is Rose, a mare that is about 10 years old." Mr. Odell told me as I walked up to the sweet girl. I tried patting her, and she stood there with a bored expression.
Mounting up, Mr. Odell went to the center of the Olympic sized ring and watched me carefully. She had a ground covering walk, and when I went to trot her, she didn't fuss at all. She let me collect and extend her vast stride. She stepped to the side perfectly, and halted with a beautiful flick of her tail. I asked for a canter, and she did so with not a single amount of fuss. Her canter stride was so big I was amazed. I had never ridden a horse like this! Now that I think of it, the only 'great' horse I had ever ridden was Keller.
I turned towards the diagonal line, and was about to ask for a lead change, when she did a flying lead change with a snort!

"Walk. So what do you think so far?" He asked with a rise of his dark brown eye brows shading over his dark eyes.

"She's too easy. Is her jump as easy?" I asked while giving her a long loose rein and a pat on her body clipped neck.

"Yes, she is a horse that will carry you around blind folded. She is a very sweet girl, but is not what we are looking for is she?" He asked.

"No, she's not. And it's almost like she will do her job and doesn't want a connection."

"That's what I thought. So let's go in and look at this seven year old gelding. He's a master at Dressage, but is just starting on jumping. He jumps 3'9 courses fine. From what I have seen and heard, you are your best with jumping. So I think that he will be great." He said with a slight grin, but then lead me in to the barn to try the mystery horse.

I gave Rose to a groom, and went to get a drink out of my locker while the new horse was being tacked up.
I saw Katherine taking up Ace, Mr. Odell's stallions colt. There was a boy standing there with her talking. He bright blue eyes with brown flippy hair. He laughed along with Kat, and swatted at her. She had on black breeches and a grey polo, along with her tall black boots.

"Hey! Come and meet Blake!" She called over to me as Blake turned around.

As I got there, she smiled and said "This is my Boy Friend. He's a swimmer." She said poking at his abs. He had on a dark red shirt along with kakis and some Sperrys.

"Nice to meet you! I'm El." I replied, and started to turn around and added "See yall!"
She continued grooming her horse, and they played around.

When I got to the ring, I saw the most amazing thing I have ever seen.
