I looked at Logan, heart hammering in my chest. I can't read his emotions, but I'm not sure I really want to.

"To this corner" he says, and guides his mare over in the far corner of the vast ring.

I make my way over there, my gelding taking long steps to my doom. At this moment, I want to leave and take Sterling to the cross country course and get my mind off of things, but that would be stupid. So I continue until I'm on a circle trotting around working on keeping my horse in a frame while making him counter bend. It's clear Logan is trying to make this difficult for me, but my horse takes this challenge with ease.

"Ask him to canter, extended canter, and counter bend. Then after two circles posting trot with an inside bend. Then do a working trot with a shoulder in." He speaks, but this time softer than he usually does. I'm not sure if it's because we are in training mode, or if he sees something in me.

I ask for a extended canter, while counter bending, and Sterly takes enjoyment in this and swishes his tail to a imaginary beat. After sitting deep in my black leather saddle, he trots with suspension and I post to his smooth gait. I bend him to the inside and he snorts with pleasure. After two circles we slip into a working trot with a shoulder in. As soon as I ask for a shoulder in, Sterling obeys and happily does what I ask.

Gosh I love this horse.

"Walk" I hear from the inside of my circle.

I halt and turn towards him, wanting to hear his feed back. I expect a biting comment about my seat or how this horse is too easy for me, but instead it's really nice.

"Not really much I can say except that you have a great connection with your horse. The transitions are smooth and you keep your seat light and balanced but not too light. I see why you made the advanced team." Once he said that, I wasn't sure what to think. I just kind of nodded and muttered "Walk" to him.

I take his place in the middle of the circle and start to teach him a lesson.

Later that night I'm making my way back to my dorm after saying good bye to Sterling and Luke, when I see Cameron.

"Hey!" He says and rushes in to give me huge hug.

After taking my head out of his chest I look at his gleaming eyes, "Oh my gosh hello! I haven't seen you in forever!"

"I know, we have two totally different schedules. How's your new horse?" He asks while we make our way to the dorms.

"Good I mean we really have hit it off. He's a lot of fun really."

"That's awesome! We should hang out sometime huh?" He says with a grin.

"I'm not too sure, maybe if you, Luke, and I hang out but not just us. I don't want him to think anything." I say as I bite down on my nails.

"Oh yeah." His voice becomes cold. "You are dating him."

I stop in my tracks and turn to him. "Am I missing something here?"

"Actually yes, yes you are. Logan and I hate him and we advise you to stay away from him." He says in a tone laced with authority.

"Oh really huh? Well too bad for you! I don't need a third or fourth parent for that matter, so no thanks." I fuss and stomp off.

Who does he think he is? Trying to tell me who I can date and who I can't date!

After getting back to my dorm I go to that bathroom and strip off my clothes. I step into a hot shower and let the water rinse away the stress and chaos of the day. At least one good thing came of it. I had a great lesson on Sterling and he showed some true talent. I wonder what he would be like on the cross country course? It should be nice enough this and next week so I hope we can.

I got out and dried off and toweled my hair dry. After putting on some sweats and a shirt that said "Equestrian Power" on I made my out. I saw Scarlett sitting on her bed on her phone.

"Hey" I said casually.

She looked at me, eyes filled with anger and said "Took you long enough. Gosh" and pushed passed me.

Woah. I wonder what that was about? I resumed with putting my hair in a bun and slapping on a tad bit of make up and slipping on some sandals. After grabbing my phone and card I made my way across campus. As I walked to the cafeteria I thought of what Cam said. Why wouldn't he like Luke? I didn't get it. Then Scarlett? What was up with her? So weird. Well, I guess they would have to get over it.
