twenty two - XXII

I chuckled at the little girls demanding to hold my hands as we were walking to the festival. "Hey (Y/n) make me fly like an angel!" Mana exclaimed. I tried to suppress a laugh and looked at Takashi with wide eyes. He burst out into laughing at my reaction "You know, like when you take my hand and I take Takashis hand and then you swing me around?" Mana elaborated. "Taka-chan does it all the time with us when we go out with mommy" Luna said from my other side. 

"So? Can you make me fly?" Mana impatiently asked. "Yeah, I can" I looked at Takashi and he grabbed Manas other hand "One, two, three" He counted down and on three we swung the little girl forwards and backwards as she lifted her feet off the ground. Mana giggled and laughed in excitement. "Look! There's Yuzu-chan!" Luna exclaimed, indeed pointing at Yuzuha standing next to Hakkai not too far away from us, at the entrance of the festival.

Mana jumped out of her hands and the two siblings ran to Hakkai and Yuzuha. Yuzuha hugged the two back as we walked towards her. "(Y/n)! You're the only one without a kimono!" Yuzuha complained, frowning. "Mine has gotten too small sorry" I chuckled. "Why didn't you buy one?" I looked away, slightly embarrassed. "Well, I kind of forgot how to wear one and I thought if I didn't even know how to do that, the poor kimono would be better off if someone else bought it"

The brown haired girl crossed her arms. "Next time you better call me so I can help you" I agreed as Mana and Luna started demanding all our attention again. "Hey, why are we going outside so late at night?" Luna asked "I like the day more". Thinking about it, it's kind of ironic since 'Luna' means moon. "Because it's Shinchi-Go-San and new years eve. We can't miss the first minutes of the new year you know?" Yuzuha explained. Patting the little kids hair. 

"Takemitchy!" Takashi shouted "Looks like you're all dressed up for Shinchi-Go-San" "'Sup!" Hakkai greeted. Takemichis eyes grew wide at the sight of the two younger Mitsuyas. "Huh? Mitsuya-kun are those two the little sisters I've heard about?" he leaned down to Luna "How old are you? What little angels" Oh how wrong he was. "I'm not a little kid. Dumb face" Luna answered "Dumb face" Mana echoed. They quickly rushed off to Hinata "Yay! Pretty lady!"

"How are you raising them?!" Takemichi complained. "Her fault" Takashi grinned while pointing at me. "Excuse me? I raise them properly unlike you! He's teaching them fighting instead of reading" I said to Takemichi "I had to teach Luna how to read" "But at least I teach them how to take care of themselves" the lilac haired male pointed out. "But you also leave the teaching about school stuff up to me, I feel like some mother" I complained. "You can't even cook though" I scoffed "I can bake though. I always have to bake sweets for your sisters" "Pfft you only learned baking so you could make yourself sweets" 

Before our bickering could go on any further Hinata loudly interrupted "They got ema here!" she pointed at a stall that sold the small wooden plates. "Ohh let's get some to write on" Her boyfriend said. "Yeah let's get one" Hakkai agreed "Never done an ema before" Takashi nudged me "You neither right?" I nodded "You write your wishes on them don't you?" Yuzuha asked. We all bought a bunch of ema and got sharpie to write on them.

"I want to be good... at fighting... next year... there" Takashi read out loud as he wrote. "That's your wish?" Hakkai leaned over. "I hope mommy will play with me more" Luna said and wrote it down. "Me too" Mana rested her chin on the table that she barely reached. "What's your wish?" the eldest Mitsuya asked me. "I don't really know what to write down" I tapped the sharpie against the wooden surface of the table while in thought. "Well think. What's something that you really want? Right now? I think it's quite obvious" with that he just left.

"What an ass" I mumbled "Why didn't he tell me if he knew so well?" A sudden voice near my ear nearly made me jump out of my shoes. "Maybe he wants you to figure it out yourself. Since even if he suspects to know what you want, you might not want that. Or maybe he doesn't want to see you write it down" I put a hand on my heart beating fast in my chest "Oh my god" I turned my head to see a head with all too familiar blonde hair, resting on my shoulder. "Sorry, did I scare you?" Emma asked, looking at me. 

"A bit" I admitted. That was a lie, I actually nearly peed myself. "Well, I'll leave you alone for now so you can think about what you wish for. See ya" and she took off too. I calmed my breathing a bit, that was still quite upset from how she scared me. Of course I knew what I wished for. I took the cap off the sharpie and wrote down my wish on the small piece of wood. 

Sudden commotion and a screech from Takemichi ripped me out of my thoughts and caused me to focus on it instead. The blond haired boy was running after and ema, flying through the air. I tried to hurry through the crowd to be able to keep seeing what's going on. "Give me that back!" Takemichi yelled at Chifuyu who threw the ema up to somewhere behind him again. "Your jerk! Why'd you throw it?!" he shouted, already behind the ema again. He nearly made someone stumble over him as he was crawling around on the floor, trying to find the ema that finally had hit the ground.

"Wait for me! My ema!" he yelled after the wood plate. The blond haired girl from before turned around, along with Draken and Mikey. "Your Emma? What do you mean your Emma?" she asked, furrowing her brows in slight disgust. "Do you mean this?" Mikey asked, holding up the ema painted with a wolf and a moon. Takemichi screamed upon seeing it before pulling himself together and clearing his throat. "Please give me that back!" he asked.

"You seem pretty desperate. Okay here you go" He was about to give it to his friend when a voice boomed through the speakers. "Yeahhhh!" it loudly exclaimed. "What's going on?" Takemichi asked. Emma hurried to me "Ten seconds until midnight!"  "Let's all jump together guys!" Mikey said and everyone agreed. I mean, who wouldn't? "Let's hold hands when we jump (Y/n)" Emma spoke over the noise and I nodded, giving her a smile. "Three!!" the voice spoke. Emmas fingers entangled with mine. "Two!!" I felt excitement whirl up in my stomach, giving me an adrenaline rush. "One!!" we jumped.
