Weird...

Avery's pov:

"hi mom", I spoke with a small voice, shaking with fear.

"What the fuck are you doing here and who is in that car that is parked outside my house?", she hissed, looking at me.

"Uh- so after you, you know, kicked me out of the house, I uh- tried to sleep in the nearby park for the night and that group of people that you see in the car, the teenagers, they found me and offered to let me stay at their home for the night. But I wanted to try and come back here an-", I stuttered out before getting cut off.

"Who are they, they look familiar?"

"They are uh- those youtubers that I've told you about before"

"And so if I don't let you back in this house, you'll go back to them?", she questioned.

"I- uh- yeah. I think"

A smirk appeared on her face before she said, "Come on in then"

My eyes sparkled, I was happy that I could go back. But some suspicion still laid within me. What was the smirk? There was also something off with the way she spoke just now.

I brushed it off, but asked her again, "Really?"

"Yeah, come in", she spoke with a smile, hand gesturing to inside the house.

I took a glance back at the car, smile clearly telling them that I was allowed back in.

All of them looked back at me with a big smile, except Wilbur, who had just smiled a little, worry showing on his face.

I gave one last grin before stepping into the house, slipping my shoes off and setting them aside.

My mother took a step back and closed the door, locking it as well.

"So, how are you?", she asked.

Wow, that was the first time I've heard that from her in awhile.

"I'm fine. How bout' you?", I asked back.

"I'm doing good. Actually great", my mother spoke, letting out a chuckle at the end of her sentence before ascending to the kitchen.

"So, how was living with those people like for the night like?", she asked.

"Uhh, it was nice, yeah", I replied as she came back.

Then she started inching closer to me, a bit too close for my liking.

"Well, how bout we take a little trip?", she chirped.

"To where?"

"Go pack your bag and I'll tell you"

I gave her a questioning look before slowly moving from the couch to the the stairs and up to my room.

I grabbed my bag and started packing a few sets of clothes.

I was a bit suspicious of my mother. She was never this polite and kind? This behaviour just came out of nowhere.

Because of that I grabbed a little pocket knife that I found at the park the other day and shoved it into my pocket.

I then checked my phone and realised that I had been added into a group with the others.

"Cracked children+Wilbur"

Must've been Tommy or Drista's work.

Regardless I clicked on the group, wanting to inform them on my current situation.

I pocketed my phone and grabbed my bag, looking around the room.

Hopefully nothing goes wrong for once.
