Scars POV

Grian woke up the next morning, head still on Scars shoulder. Scar was awake, but not aware that Grian was. Grian looked up at him.

"Good morning." Grian whispered to Scar in a very tired voice.

"Morning sleepyhead." Scar stood up, or at least tried to. He stumbled, almost hitting the ground till Grian gave him some balance.

"Listen." Grian balanced Scar to his feet and looked him in the eyes. Scar glanced back, Grian was concerned. Why?

"What's up?" Scar looked back at him.

"I may have told a friend of mine that I found you, and you and me are going to meet her to try and explain." Grian was oddly nervous. Scar was confused why, if it was Grians friend surely they were nice.

"Sounds good." Scar limped toward the door of the bedroom to grab his coat. Grian smiled and trotted out of the room. They were both headed to the balcony. The view there was amazing. As Scar walked out onto the balcony, Grian stretched out his wings as high as he could to let the sun light hit them. His height grew by what almost looked like 9 feet. Grian turned around to see Scar looking up at his wings.

Grian smirked as he folded his wings back and walked back inside.

After a long day of collecting resources from the Rainforest, it was almost the time that Grian and Sozora would meet at the launch pad. Grian forgot how Scar was going to get there, so he let him ride on his back as he flew there. It was not the best way, but it worked. As they landed on the launch pad, Sozora turned around and looked Grian in the eyes.

"So, this is the human you mentioned?" Sozora pointed a careless finger toward Scar, who was standing a few feet behind Grian.

"Yep, that's the human." Grian looked at Sozora.

'Human', that's what they saw him as, just a human, nothing else. No Scar. No name. Just 'human'.

"Grian. Do you KNOW how much the town pays people for finding those people?!?" Sozora was Grians friend, Scar started questioning his safety. She seemed aggressive, Scar didn't want to judge, but why would Grian pick her as a friend.

"Yes. I do know how much they pay, but they also ,execute, the humans, and I don't think that fair. So as much as I do understand why your being like this, I'm trusting you to be my friend right now." Grian made his way closer to the woman's face.

"At least you understand, then you'll know why I did this." Sozora took Grians hand to keep him in place.

Scar was unsure what to do, he was panicking.
He made out the words of calling out Grians name before something hit his head and everything went black.

It was cold, everything was aching, and rain was leaking through the badly put together roof. After ripping his eyes open, Scar found himself in a dark, wet, cold, wooden  room. Everything was shaking, and it felt like a dream. It was hard to process the situation as a throbbing pain pounded in his head, and his hands were numbing.

Yelling was happening outside. He couldn't make out much, all he heard was: I thought I could trust you, you were the closest friend I have?! You're just gonna throw that away because of a stupid human?" One of the people sounded like Grian. He must have been Grian. The other one was the woman from the launch pad. The pounding headache that went through scars head made the yelling much louder. The volume made his headache even worse. Scar exhaled and curled into a corner. In the top left of the room was a window. Scar pulled himself back up to see out of it. Grian was standing infront of the woman, he was being forced to a wall with spears put to his throat. His eyes were watering, he was scared. Grian said him and this woman were friends, Scar had to do something. He let his feet lie flat on the ground, staring out the window like that for too long made his legs ache an awful lot. After telling himself to stay awake over and over again, his eyes were slowly shutting. Maybe getting some sleep wouldn't be the worst thing to do.

Grians POV

Spears were held up to Grians neck, about 5 or 6 of them. He had known these people for years and one human can turn them hostile.

Sozora gave Grian a nasty look than started walking away from him.

"I'll make you a deal, you and your little friend will survive." Sozora turned around to see Grians pale blank face.

"What the deal?" It was hard to speak, his voice was sore and moving at all made the spears slowly get closer to him.

"You can't be apart of this town anymore, we kinda just, exile you." Sozora cheerfully gave her solution to Grian.

Grian and Sozora locked eyes. What was he supposed to say? Words failed to leave his mouth. This was his home, it was his protection, these people were his family and they wanted him to leave. Grian needed time to think but Sozora was very inpatient, she got him to talk.

"Guards, go 'execute' our little human friend."
Sozora nodded her head at where the jail cell was located.

"Stop, fine, I'll do it just don't hurt him." Grian moved his head forward, accidentally letting one of the spears pierce his neck. Putting his hand on his now bleeding throat, the spears lowered as a sign of agreement. Sozora yanked Grians hand to take him to the jail cell. He kept his head down, the townspeople watched them from a distance.

Walking into the room Scar was in, cold shivers went up Grians spine and all through his bones. He walked over to Scar, who was awake and had no clue what was going on. The moment that Scar stood up, Grian buried his head into Scars chest and gave him a hug. Grians heart was pounding at an alarming rate. The comforting hug broke when Sozora indicated the signal to go to the center of the town where they could officially exile him.

The only thing Scar knew was that something was wrong. Grian tightly gripped Scars hand, his breathing was heavy and he kept a fist ready to attack. These were all signs of Grians anxiety. When they stepped into the center of the town, Sozora was standing infront of Grian.

"So basically, don't ever come back here or bring anyone else here. If you do, we won't show mercy, and you will be executed wherever you are seen." Sozora was still impatient.

Grian took a deep breath in to allow words to leave his mouth. Instead he just silently nodded and made his way back to the launch pad to get back home. When he took off letting Scar ride on his back it was completely silent. Landing infront of the treehouse, Grian opened the door and tears rolled down his face.

Scars POV

Grian was falling apart, he had no more family and he wasn't welcome in his home anymore. Scar walked over to him and gave him a hug.

"I have nothing." Grians words were hard to understand because of his watery eyes and shaky voice.

"I'm not leaving you, if I find my way home, im taking you with me." Scar looked Grian in the eyes and gave him a reassuring look and a warm smile.

"We should focus on finding your home again." Grian broke out of the hug and started making his way to a workshop he had in his treehouse.

Scar grabbed his hand before he went to far and nodded. Grian smiled, happy he wasn't alone.
