Grians eyes squinted as the birds sang outside his treehouse.
He did not have a alarm, never has, never will, the birds woke him up everyday.
Bare feet hit the dark oak floor, he rubbed his eyes while walking to his blinds to open them. The moment the blinds opened, the birds all quiet down as if they were saying good morning. Grian loved the silence, he breathed in the moist air and closed his eyes.
"Hello my lovely's" Grian took a handful of seeds and put them on his windowsill for the birds.
Heading to his closet, he grabbed his favorite sweater and started his day.Every morning was the same. Grian was never sure if he wanted it to change or not. The thought of leaving the Rainforest spun around in his head every morning, he thought of what people he could meet, the places he could see.
No. He could not leave, it was his home, he had to protect it.His closet doors opened, he didn't have much inside other than a couple pairs of jeans, a couple of different colored t-shirts, and a red sweater.
He had worn that sweater for longer than he could remember, it was full of dirt and holes he had to fix. Maybe it was just full of love? Grian always like to think it was. His treehouse was built by none other than himself , everyone else knew he was an architect. They even thought he would build a mansion someday. Nobody in the Rainforest was alone, there was a town that sat in the trees, all treehouses were connected by rope bridges that looked like they were about to snap.He sat on his bed. Picking up the leftover feathers that fell off his wings overnight. Walking into his room of chests, he grabbed an axe, pickaxe, shovel, sword, and a basket to keep fruits or other resources in. The Rainforest people struggled with keeping their meat resources supplied, so they mainly lived on the fruits of the forest. It kept them alive, so that's just what they agreed with.
He slipped his sweater on and headed out the front door. The sun shined through the green city of trees that Grians house hung in. The sun beams hit his wings. They were stretched as far as they could go. The feathers were painted in the brightest colors, the sun made them glow even brighter. After one flap, Grian took off in the direction of the town. He worked with some of the markets that solids fruits and weaponry. It was one of the only ways he could make money for wood and ores that he needed for himself.
"Good Morning sir" Grian cheerfully noded to his boss.
"Morning G" the man ruffled Grians hair, mocking how short he was.Everyone in the town knew Grian. He was the shortest among the winged people. He was also known for the most beautiful and colorful wings in the entire rainforest.
Readying his wings with a basket in his hands, he almost took off before a crash behind him took him off guard.
"You good?" Grian grinned as a girl stood up.
This was Sozora. Grians closest friend growing up in the Rainforest."You almost left without even saying good morning to me!" Sozora lifted her wings off the floor. She was not as agile as Grian was when it came to flying. Her wings were covered in the most beautiful purple and yellow feathers that glowed in the sunlight. The purple feathers matched her blond hair perfectly.
"Oops, sorry. I over slept today and I was gonna be late!" Grian wing bumped her as a sign of friendship.
"Just make sure to meet me at our meeting place after your work." Sozora started to hover over Grian.
"Alright, Alright." Grian said. Sozora nodded and glided away.
He saw her heading off, picked up his basket and leaped off the patio, heading to pick fruits and adventure through the wood.
