"My mom has been so overprotective lately," Clary groaned, rolling her eyes as Olivia chuckled.
"Yeah, I practically had to force her to let me come here," the brunette smiled. She found it sweet and felt loved every time her mother was protective over her.
"So do you remember in Aliens?" Simon started glancing at the brunette. "When the alien queen was defending her eggs from Ripley?"
"In this scenario, is our mom Ripley or alien queen?" Olivia asked.
"Both," Simon shrugged.
"What?" Clary questioned, a smile on her face as she looked at their best friend.
"A mother defending her young."
"Defending me from what?" Clary rolled her eyes. "I spend all day in an art studio. My life couldn't be more mundane. Liv is the one with the interesting life."
"Hey," she shoved the redhead.
"Did you or did you not beat up Brad Willis yesterday?" Simon raised his eyebrow at her, a smile on his lips.
"He smacked Lizzie Delmanico's butt," Olivia exclaimed.
"You don't even like her," Clary said. "She's a bitch."
"Yes, she is. That doesn't mean she deserves to get sexually harassed," the brunette shrugged.
"Olivia Fray, always the protector," Simon slug his arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer to himself making her giggle.
"Besides," Clary started, sending a small glare to the oblivious duo, "I really don't know much about when she was young."
"Oh, just do what I do and get all the dirt from your relatives," Maureen suggested.
"Well, I would if I could, but she doesn't have any," the redhead scoffed. "A-and my dad died before I was born." Olivia pulled her in a side hug and gave her a sympathetic smile.
She knew how the redhead felt. Not knowing your family was something she was familiar with. The only difference between them was that Clary wanted to know who her father was and Olivia didn't care about knowing her family. She did when she was young, but she grew up and realized that she didn't need them. She had Jocelyn and Clary and that was enough. They were her family.
"So you have no one? No uncles, no aunts, no third cousins, twice removed?" Maureen asked.
"Nope, just me and my mom. " Clary shrugged. "And Liv of course."
"It's why the Lewis clan has added four chairs to every seder since pre-school," Simon piped in, squeezing the brunette's shoulder when he felt her tense and frown at the pause in Clary's sentence. "One for Livie, one for Clary, one for Jocelyn, and one for Elijah."
"Of course," Olivia mumbled. "Obviously."
"Yes, obviously."
"You guys don't think that's a little bit suspicious?" Maureen questioned. "You not knowing anything about your family? Your mom could be hiding some deep, dark secret."
"Our mother is not going to turn out to be some criminal mastermind," Olivia chuckled. "I hope," she added making Clary raise her brows.
"What?" the brunette shrugged, an amused smile was on her face at her adopted sister's expression. "That woman is incredible. She could be one if she wanted to."
"It's not possible," Clary said to Maureen after rolling her eyes and Olivia. "My mom is incapable of concealing anything from me."
Olivia nodded in agreement.
"Okay let's go now," Olivia said, pulling Simon down with her. "You've got an audience to mesmerize."
"Damn right we do," Simon chuckled.

"Oh my god Clary, that is so beautiful," Olivia exclaimed as she stared at her sister's art on the van.
"What's the tag?" Simon pointed.
"Weird, I didn't even mean to draw that," Clary frowned. "Second time today."
"You know they have confirmed cases of people waking up in the morning speaking French and they never ever studied the language," Maureen said.
"You think that's some kind of language," the redhead asked.
"Sanskrit maybe."
Olivia rolled her eyes at her friend and placed a hand on her sister's shoulder before turning around to walk away, only to bump into someone.
"I am so sorry," she said as the blonde-haired boy turned around, surprise evident on his face.
"You can see me?" He asked. His frown deepened when he caught her scent, it was faint and he almost missed it. His mate. Adoration flickered through his eyes as he took in her appearance, and he swore he could feel his heart skip a beat.
"Of course I can see you. I'm not blind," she rolled her eyes.
"Hey, apologize to her," Clary piped him, looking at him up and down with a small smirk on her face.
"You have the Sight," he glanced at the redhead.
"Yeah of course she has sight. What the hell are you talking about dude?" Olivia exclaimed.
"Wait the what?" Clary giggled, thinking he was flirting with her.
The blonde boy ignored her as he stared at his mate, "How can I not know who you are? You have no idea how long we've been waiting."
"Okay, whatever. The website you got that line from, sucks," Olivia mumbled before turning around to walk away.
"Wait," she felt the boy's hand wrap around her wrist, gently and light like a feather, like he was afraid he'd break her.
"What?" She groaned. All she wanted to do was go home and sleep, she did not like going out. At all.
"Jace," she heard a shout from near the club. The blonde turned around and then looked back at her, he hesitated before running towards the source leaving a confused Olivia.
The only thing on his mind was the brunette beauty he had seen. His mate. And how excited he was to tell his other mate about her. They had finally found her.

A/N - I am so sorry for not updating for so long, I had gone for a trek (worst mistake of my life) and basically broke every part of my body and nearly died twice. :)
