Olivia had been waiting outside for more than five minutes, impatiently as she worried for her sister's safety. Jace had reluctantly joined the redhead after sensing his mate's restlessness and Alec was waiting with Olivia, Simon and Izzy.

"So, is cracking someone's mind open supposed to take this long?" Simon asked. "Maybe we or you should go check?"

"Jace has it covered," Alec rolled his eyes.

"Take my word for it," Izzy pouted. "The Silent Brothers are quiet unpleasant."

"Not helping, Iz," Olivia muttered, her hands were shaking. Noticing that, Alec wrapped his hand around hers rubbed it, probably thinking that she was just cold.

But she wasn't. She was scared. She was terrified. Her sister's life was in danger and all she could do was wait outside like a coward. She wanted to do something, she needed to do something. She couldn't just do nothing, she couldn't just be useless. That's what she always had been, useless. The shadow. Doing nothing but standing behind Clary.

"What if Clary can't handle the brothers," Simon blurted out.

Olivia fought the urge to grab a rock and throw it at her best friend. As much as she loved him, his incessant worrying was not helping her worrying, at all.

"She can. She will. Clare is the strongest person we know, Si. If there's anyone strong enough to do this, it's her." She said.

"But what if-."

"It literally never stops talking," Alec piped in, his eyes flaring with rage at the effect Simon's words were having on Olivia, at how upset she was becoming at his words.

"Is he always so charming?" The mundane asked.

"First born. Heavy is the head that wears the crown," Izzy said.

"I feel his pain. Only son." He shrugged. "Mother wants me to be a CPA"

"Hmm, and what do you want?"

"Me?"

She nodded and Olivia smiled. She could see the attraction, the instant connection between them. Simon deserve that. He deserved to have someone who would ask him what he wanted. That someone wasn't Maureen, because she was never one to have those deep meaningful conversations Simon loved. And that someone was most definitely not Clary. And while Olivia loved her sister from every fiber of her being, she knew that Clary couldn't care less about what Simon wanted, or needed. She didn't look at him as anything more than a best friend.

"Uh-. Well, I'm in a band."

"Yeah? What type of music? Let me guess, Indie Rock." Izzy looked so excited, and that made Simon excited, and that made Olivia excited.

"You got anything on your phone?"

"I do," Simon exclaimed immediately, his eyes brightened and he beamed at the brunette Shadowhunter. "We recorded our last set and we killed i-. I left my phone in the van."

"Let's go get it."

"Yeah."

"Yeah."

"Where's it going?" Alec asked, he was still rubbing Olivia's hand and he had pulled her closer to himself to keep her warm.

"We'll be right back," Izzy smiled at him before she grabbed Simon's hand and they walked to the van.

Olivia turned to Alec and opened her mouth to speak but was cut off by the sound of a huge bang. She jumped. "What the hell?"

Alec pushed her behind him and his hands instantly went to his bow and arrow, he looked around frantically for any signs of danger before turning back to his mate.

"I need you to stay here, okay? I'm going to look around and make sure it's safe."

Olivia wanted to stop him, she wanted to tell him to stay with her. But she didn't. She watched as he quickly rushed to the direction of the sound.

She swallowed the lump in her throat and looked around. And then she felt a hand around her and another hand clamped her mouth shut. Her breathing quickened and her hands became clammy, tears clouded her vision as she thrashed around in the strong hold.

She heard a deep voice whisper in her ears, "Don't worry principessa, I'm not going to hurt you."

And then he sped them off.
