"Is anyone there?" Olivia heard the echo of her best friend's voice and her body tensed. She turned to look at the vampire who kidnapped her. He said his name was Raphael.

"Why are we here?"

"We want the mortal cup," he answered like it was obvious - which it was.

"Clary doesn't have it. None of them do. Valentine does."

He rolled his eyes. "Valentine is dead."

"No," she retorted. "He isn't."

"Hello?!" Simon yelled again and the ache in Olivia's chest intensified.

"Please get him out." She pleaded.

The vampire turned to look at her, her lips were tugged in a frown and she had tears in her eyes as she sent him a pleading look. He tried not to, but his heart melted and he ordered one of his vampires to get the mundane out of wherever they were holding him. Olivia sent him a small smile, which he couldn't help but return.

Simon continued rambling when he saw the vampire standing in front of his best friend. "If your goal was to scare the crap out of me, then mission accomplished. As far as I'm concerned, you can have it out with those Shadowhunters. Especially the blonde one."

"Si," Olivia snapped, but she couldn't hide the amusement shining in her eyes at his rambling.

"So how does this end?" Simon continued as Olivia took her seat on the golden couch in front of her. "Do we get out of here alive or what?"

"The answer to that is above my paygrade."

"What do you guys even get paid," Olivia piped in. She tried to act uninterested and unbothered, but deep down she was scared. Terrified. But a part of her was calm, a part of her trusted Jace and Alec enough to know that they would get her out of there. "Money or blood?"

"Paygrade? They pay vampires?" Simon asked.

"Let's just say we invest early and often," Raphael smirked.

"Sit down," Raphael rolled his eyes. "Why won't you sit down?" Simon continued walking around, touching every piece of antique around him. "I really hate fidgeting."

"I'm just-. Um. I'm just looking."

"For a way out?" Raphael took a breath. "There isn't one."

"Let Liv go," Simon suddenly said. "Keep me here and drink my blood or whatever the hell you want. But just let her go. She's innocent."

"Simon no," Olivia warned her best friend. No matter how scared she was, she was not going to leave him. She would never leave him.

"I'm afraid I can't do that. You see," Raphael walked up to Olivia, standing behind the couch. He placed his hands on her shoulders, tightening his hold when he saw her tense. "Your little Shadowhunter friend and I go a long way back."

"What are you talking about?" The brunette said softly, losing her voice along with her courage every second she felt the vampire's hand on her.

"I'll explain everything soon," he said. Then he leaned down, whispering in her ear. "Don't worry, principessa, I won't hurt you."

He grabbed the young Shadowhunter and sped to another room in the hotel, leaving the mundane alone in the room.
