The phone continued ringing for the sixteenth time as the boy continued bringing down his hard fists. Taehyung's face was covered with tears and sweat but, he didn't stop punching the man below him.

His ex-girlfriend's new man.

He was on top of the dude, pinning down his shoulders with his knees. The only reason Taehyung was not clocking him in the eye was again because of the ringing from his pockets. He had a busted lip and a few bruises on his cheek but, that made him look wild—a side he never knew was in him.

A side that was scary, evil, possessive, and yandere.

The streets were dead quiet at that time of the night and all he could hear was his own heartbeat pounding hard against his chest. Matt, the man below him, had a swollen eye and there was pure terror shining off of his eyes. For a second, Taehyung realized that it wasn't Matt's mistake at all—she left him for another man meant that he wasn't good enough.

Taehyung was shaking and that buzzing panic was surfing through his mind. Year 2026, and he had already lost everything he cherished and held close. In his 29 years of life, he had never felt so lonely and depressed as he was now.

His band was long gone.

His fans were far away to be able to help him.

His recent accident disabled him from enlisting in the military.

He wasn't as famous as he was before—everything that happened in the past 5 years was totally unexpected. From Grammy nominations, to here—he could have never predicted their future together.

Quarrels, fights, and abandoning.

Matt squirmed underneath him and Taehyung raised his fist to hold him down. He wasn't exactly sure about what he did—his tears slowly leaked through his eyes and his hand dropped to his side. Surprisingly, Matt rose off of the ground and hugged him, letting him cry on his shoulder.

"I'm so sorry," he whispered quietly, looking over to the elementary school's parking lot they were in.  "It's o—You should go back home, Tae." He slowly patted his shoulder.

Taehyung stood up on his legs, stumbling ahead to the exit as Matt fell back onto the ground, closing his eyes. Finally, under the moonlight, he picked up the call. "Dad?"

"Taehyung?! Where are you and why did you run off from home like that?"

He didn't have an answer to that. He didn't want his dad to know what he was going through and all that mattered to him right now was guilt. The guilt of not being a good boyfriend. He for sure loved her so much—more than he loved himself.

Taehyung grunted and sighed as he cleaned his wounds and bruises with the water source from the park. The clock was hitting 3 AM and he was nervous about the reply he was going to give his father.

It was crazy. One minute, he was planning his entire life of peace with her, and the next, she had hooked up with someone else—specifically a friend.

On his way back home, he tried to walk properly and not raise suspicions. His dad was waiting outside the house, arms crossed and a huge scowl on his face. Once Taehyung's figure turned pretty clear under the lamp posts, he sighed in relief. "Tae, where were you?"

"Dad . . . I—I forgot it was Matt's birthday today and I promised to . . . surprise him at 12!"

His dad scoffed and smiled, ruffling up his tangled hair and putting an around the younger man's shoulder, escorting him in. "You could've told me right, Tae?"

Taehyung, life is too short to worry about the past. Now you're free. There are no cameras following you around. Enjoy the time you're left with.

To be honest, his dad's words did make him feel like he had to move on and have fun, making the most of his life but, it also made him realize how many years he was gonna spend alone by himself—solving a 1000 piece puzzle that he could never finish.

He was afraid of death but, at this point in his life, he didn't think of it as a bad choice. All he wished was to choke on a cough drop, fall off the stairs and break his neck, or get murdered.

He fell for her at the wrong time when he was not in the proper state of mind—just two months after he lost his dog and four months after he lost his mother.

In his dark bedroom, Taehyung sank down to his knees—he saw nothing but black ahead in his life. He cannot journey across the dragon-infested lands to retrieve sceptres to halt death nor can he find a magic carpet and travel the world with his princess. He'll never have one.

Won't you miss me? If someone was interested in the list of people he'll miss, he had nothing for them. No one had ever wronged him, except for a few negative comments (that stopped affecting him years ago). He was a paranoid mess. He guessed he wasted his entire opportunity to live his teenage and also the potential to make great friends with everyone he ignored at school.

The number one people he'll miss were his brothers—the same 6 boys he spent his life with and the second one would be future Taehyung who was supposed to have a beautiful family.

No one will get high with him. No one will play the audience whenever he sang.

Just like that, Taehyung collapsed to the ground, thinking about how it was.

Was it time he gave up?
