Chapter 13

"Oh. Its Mr. Ray's colleagues. Shall I let them in?" Bella asked.

"Oh! Uhm...sure. Give me a bit, I'll just go and clean up." Norman smiled.

Bella nodded and did as she was told.

Norman went to the kitchen and cleaned up. He checked his cupcakes baking in the oven. He removed his apron and washed the flour off of his hands and face.

He fixed his shirt and hair. He went to the living room to meet Ray's colleagues.

"Hi. What brings you kind gentlemen here?" Norman asked with a smile.

"Oh! We're actually here to invite Ray out! You know, a little boy's outing some sort." Kenneth said.

"Oh? Uh...how about, I'll give Ray a call and tell him that your all here to...pick him up. Give me five minutes." Norman said as he went to the kitchen.

He came back and smiled. "Oh! Would you like something to drink? Coffee? Tea? Juice?" He asked.

"Coffee would do." They all smiled.

"Okay. I'll let Miss Bella bring your drinks over." Norman smiled.

Norman leaned unto the kitchen counter, he took his phone out and called Ray.

"Hello honey." Ray answered sweetly.

"Hey Ray. Uhm...listen. Your colleagues are here." Norman said as he stroked his stomach.

Norman heard Ray groan. "Why are they there?" He asked.

"Uhm... they're here to pick you up because they wanted you to join them for their boy's outing. As what Kenneth said."

"Ugh! Those idiots! Tell them that I'm busy and I'm not interested on coming along with them. Please?" Ray said as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Okay. I'll tell them. By the way, what time will you come home later?" Norman asked.

"I'll be home maybe by 9 or 10? Do you want me to buy you something to eat? Before I head home?" Ray asked sweetly as he played with his pen.

Norman fiddled with his shirt for a bit. "Uhm...can you buy me some crab and fried squid calamari?" Norman asked sheepishly.

Ray chuckled. "Okay. I'll go buy some for you. See you later, hon! Love you, bye!"

Norman chuckled. "Love you too. Bye."

Norman went to the living room to tell them what Ray said.

"Hey! So what did Ray say?" Kenneth asked.

"Uhm...he said that he's not interested on coming along with you guys." Norman said politely.

"What?! Man! That sucks! Please do try and convince Ray!" Kenneth said as he stood up and got close to Norman.

Norman walked back. "Sorry. But Ray said he doesn't want to. You can't force my husband, so please just talk to him yourself if you don't feel satisfied with his answer." Norman said nervously.

"Man! That guy is so annoying! Can't you really do anything to try and convince him?" Kenneth asked as he got even closer.

'This guy is so persistent! No wonder Ray finds him annoying! Also, he's too close!' Norman thought.

Indeed, he was too close for Norman's comfort. Norman was so uncomfortable that he pushed him away from him.

They were all shocked. When Norman overcame from the shock he stuttered out. "I-i'm s-so sorry! I-i didn't mean to push you away. I-i really am sorry." Norman stuttered. He was on the brink of tears and he was breathing too quickly.
