Chapter 17: Betrayal? or Not?

Ray went out and started to look for Norman. He then stopped and thought of something.

'What's the go to spot of Norman where when he gets sad and sulks there?' Ray thought.

He snapped his fingers and smiled. 'The park!' Ray thought happily and flew there.

When he got there, there he saw his mate. Sitting on bench with his hung low and hugging his knees close to his chest.

Ray walked over and he draped Norman's jacket over him. He then sat beside him and waited for Norman to say something.

"How did you find me?" Norman asked. Still not looking up at Ray.

Ray huffed. "I figured you'd be here to sulk, since I smelled in the room that you were upset." Ray said as he puffed out hot air and he looked up into the sky.

Norman hummed and he finally put his legs down and he hugged Ray.

Ray sighed and he hugged Norman back. He gently patted his hair. "What's wrong Norman? Did something happen while I went to get the kids?" Ray asked sweetly.

Norman nodded as he snuggled close to Ray.

"Ah. I see. Let me guess. That Princess said something that made you upset. Didn't she?" Ray said.

Norman nodded. 'Bullseye.' Ray thought.

Ray sighs. "Do you want to tell me what she said? I know your not really in a mental state to take in mean comments.

But I'm here if you want to let out what you're feeling right now." Ray said as he gently stroked Norman's hair.

"When we get back at the inn. We can talk there." Norman said as he buried his face onto Ray's chest.

"Okay. Let's go now? You wanna walk? Or I'll carry you." Ray asked.

Norman placed his legs on Ray's lap indicating that he wants to be carried.

Ray laughed softly and he kissed Norman on the forehead before carrying him bridal style.

Norman buried his face onto Ray's chest as he melted into Ray's warmth.

Ray fixed Norman's jacket as they walked back to the inn.

When they got there, Lani's wails were heard from the other side of the door.

Ray gently put Norman down as Norman stood up and went inside the room.

"Mommy!" The kids smiled and they all ran up to Norman and hugged him.

Norman hugged them back and smiled. "What's wrong?" He asked.

"Lani won't stop crying and we were worried about you. Where have you been?!" Amelia asked.

"I'm sorry sweetheart. Mommy didn't mean to disappear like that. I was just...thinking about some things. Sorry." Norman said.

"Its okay. We forgive you." Amelia smiled.

Norman smiled back and he went over to Gilda who is trying to calm Lani down.

"I'm so sorry Norman. I tried my best to calm him down, but he really wouldn't." Gilda said as she handed Lani over to Norman.

Norman smiled. "Its okay Gilda. Thanks for coming over to help." Norman said as he started to sway back and forth.

Lani started to calm down once he smelled Norman's pheromones and only little whimpers are being heard.
