"Quinn, Puck, can I talk to you guys for a second?" Mr. Schue requested.
Quinn furrowed her eyebrow and looked at Puck. "Sure."
Everyone gathered their things and the room began to clear out.
"So are we in trouble?" Puck asked, leading the way into Mr. Schue's office.
"Why would you be in trouble?" Mr. Schue wondered.
Puck gave Mr. Schue a look as he and Quinn sat down across from him.
"Well, whatever this is, can we get to it soon?" Quinn requested. "We have to go pick Beth up from Carole's."
"That's sort of what I wanted to talk to you two about." Mr. Schue noted. "Beth."
Quinn nodded slowly, waiting for the teacher to continue.
"Miss Pillsbury and I have been talking about getting engaged." Mr. Schue began.
"Oooh don't say that in front of Quinn. She's totally against getting married." Puck warned Mr. Schue.
"Only when it's a teenage wedding." Quinn clarified, giving Puck a look as she turned back to Mr. Schue. "Congrats, Mr. Schue, but what exactly does that have to do with us and Beth?"
"Well, Emma and I wanna start a family." Mr. Schue announced. "But as you know, Emma has a little bit of trouble with messes. So I was hoping we could babysit Beth so she can see what we're up against."
Quinn and Puck looked at each other.
"It can be any night of your choosing. You two could go out on a date night." Mr. Schue added. "And obviously we would do it for free."
"We could use a night to ourselves." Quinn noted as she looked at Puck. "What do you think, Noah?"
"Yeah, totally." Puck agreed. "How's Friday night?"
"It's great." Mr. Schue said. "Thanks, guys."
-
"Thanks again for doing this, Mr. Schue." Quinn smiled as she handed him two bags. "One is Beth's diaper bag, and the other bag has her favorite toys and snacks and blanket. She can't sleep without the blanket or her monkey doll."
"Got it." Mr. Schue nodded, taking the bags from Quinn and putting them on the table.
"If she gets into one of her Fabray moods, she loves music." Puck added, looking at the small blonde on his hip. "Right, B?"
Beth looked at Puck.
"You're gonna have fun with Mr. Schue and Miss Pillsbury, and Mommy and Daddy are gonna pick you up later." Puck told Beth as he kissed her cheek. "I love you."
"I love you, B." Quinn smiled as she kissed Beth's cheek. "Be good and have fun."
Puck handed Beth off to Mr. Schue and took Quinn's hand. "We'll see you later, Mr. Schue. Text me if she needs anything."
"We'll be fine." Mr. Schue promised as he gently took Beth's hand. "Bye, guys. Wave bye, Beth."
As soon as Quinn and Puck were gone, Miss Pillsbury entered the living room.
"Will, I think we..." Miss Pillsbury trailed off, her eyes widening when she saw Beth. "What's she doing here?"
"I asked Quinn and Puck to let us babysit." Mr. Schue smiled. "This is great, right? It'll be good practice for you and for us. For when we have our own. Besides, Beth's a really easygoing baby, and I figured if Puck and Quinn could do it, so could we."
"Okay, but um, ambushing me with a baby and using her as a guinea pig isn't a good idea." Miss Pillsbury responded.
"Well, babies are unpredictable." Mr. Schue shrugged. "I mean, Beth was born right after we performed at Regionals. She was a few weeks early."
"Not the same thing." Miss Pillsbury shook her head.
"Let's just try this." Mr. Schue said. "What's the worst that could happen?"
-
"Should we call Quinn? I mean, she's been crying for, like, twenty minutes. What if she's dehydrated?" Miss Pillsbury asked.
"It's only been three minutes." Mr. Schue noted, shaking his head. He scooped up Beth and put her on Miss Pillsbury's lap. "I'm gonna grab her doll."
"She's wet." Miss Pillsbury stated, holding Beth away from her as she stood up. "She needs to be changed."
"So change her." Mr. Schue smiled.
"Will, this isn't funny." Miss Pillsbury shook her head.
"You can do this." Mr. Schue swore. "Change her."
Miss Pillsbury brought Beth to the bathroom and laid her on the counter, making sure there was no room for her to accidentally fall off.
Mr. Schue watched as Miss Pillsbury slowly rolled up Beth's dress, getting it out of the way before she removed the dirty diaper.
"Wipes." Miss Pillsbury said.
Mr. Schue handed them to her and watched as she wiped Beth until she was clean. Miss Pillsbury gave Beth a fresh diaper and fixed her clothes, looking at Mr. Schue when she was done.
"You did it, Emma! I knew you could." Mr. Schue grinned proudly.
Miss Pillsbury smiled as Mr. Schue kissed her lightly.
"Can you take her? I need to wash my hands." Miss Pillsbury stated. "And the countertop."
-
"So... how was she?" Puck asked, looking at the sleeping blonde and sleeping redhead on the couch.
"She's a good kid." Mr. Schue noted. "I don't give you guys enough credit, but you've been doing a good job with her."
"Thank you." Quinn smiled as she looked at Puck. "It helps to have a good partner."
"Yeah." Puck agreed as he put his arm around Quinn. "So what do you think, Mr. Schue? Is Miss Pillsbury gonna be able to handle it?"
"Yeah, I think she is." Mr. Schue nodded.
"Cool." Puck smiled. "We should get her home then."
Puck gently picked Beth up, holding her carefully so he didn't wake her up.
"Thanks for watching her, Mr. Schue." Quinn said as she watched Puck. She picked up the bags and smiled. "We'll see you in school."
"See you in school." Mr. Schue echoed. "Thanks for tonight."
"Later, Mr. Schue." Puck smiled. "Good luck with the proposal."
