For the next two weeks, I buried myself in work at the hospital, only making time to see Joongi. I didn't even want to see Jimin, Arin, Hyeri, or Taehyung.
"Your shift is over," Hyojin said, looking at me. "You're not going home?"
I looked at the clock. Sure enough my shift was over.
I looked at the files and nodded to her. "I will Unnie. I'll pack up now."
"See you tomorrow," she said smiling and then went over to another patient's room.
I packed up my stuff and picked up my purse. I didn't even know it was time. Am I working too much? Or was I just trying to clear everything in my head.
I walked out into the parking lot and headed towards the bus stop.
After a minute or so, a car slowly came up behind me and honked. I turned around to see...Kim Seokjin.
What was Hyeri's fiancé doing here?
...
"Get in! I'll give you a ride," he said.
"I'm taking the bus!" I said, turning around again.
He kept on following. "Get in!"
I looked behind him and noticed a bunch of cars honking behind him.
"Hurry up!" he yelled again.
I quickly opened the door and got into his car. Kim Seokjin took off and turned into the street.
I stared at him as he kept his eyes on the road. What was he doing here...? What was he seeing me for? We didn't have the best first impression at all...
"I think you're wondering what I'm doing here," he stated.
"You could say something like that," I said, a little annoyed. "If it's about Hyeri—"
"Yes, it is about her."
"I haven't talked to her in a while so I wouldn't be getting into any of your business right?"
"I didn't come here to talk about that."
"Then why did you come for?"
"To talk to you. I heard you've been feeling a little down lately," he said, glancing at me.
...
What was he talking about? This had nothing to do with him. It was me who had to deal with it, not Kim Seokjin, especially not him because he didn't even know anything about me.
"Hyeri told me about your situation," he said after a few minutes of silence.
"Did she now," I said bitterly.
"You know as well as I do that she and her friends wanted to do the right thing."
I looked out the window without answering.
"You were blinded by love weren't you?" he asked. "You were young and you didn't really think about the future. Someone had to do it for you."
...
"I admit that it isn't the best way to trick a friend into thinking that his girlfriend died but if it did the job then..."
...
"It is hard...but right now you have to face what's in front of you, and not look into the past. Because the past always gives you pain."
"And who gave me that pain huh!?" I suddenly yelled out. Tears were burning through my eyes.
