"You're quite the cook, Valery," Curly said. "Thanks! I'm going to be a chef one day!" Valery said proudly. "I'll have to eat at your restaurant often!" Said Curly with a bright smile.

"Um, we have some important questions for you," Curly said. "Okay, uh, Logan, can you put Natie to bed?" Valery asked. I nodded and took Natalia up to the bed and read her a story before racing down the stairs and I saw the men on the couch with Valery.

They noticed me and motioned for me to sit but I didn't I just leaned on the wall crossing my arms over my chest.

My black hair fell in my sapphire eyes.

"Does your mom bring men often?" Asked Curly.

Valery nodded.

"Do they hurt or touch you?" Blondie asked.

"No, but... Sometimes... Sometimes our mom gets violent and yells and hits us," Valery said.

"Is that why Logan doesn't talk?" Blondie asked.

"No, he doesn't talk because he's in mourning and he doesn't feel worthy enough to talk," Valery said.

"Is that true?" Curly asked.

I nodded.

"Listen, you are worthy of the world. You shouldn't feel like no one wants to listen," Curly said.

I didn't answer. Why would I? I don't trust these men yet.

"Do you guys want to leave this place?" Blondie asked. "Yes," Valery said. "Okay, we'll find a way to get you guys out of here. Here's my number. Just sit tight," Curly said. "I'm Slash and that's Duff, see you guys around."

"They are nice kids. The mom is a whore, one of the girls, Valery, she's a cripple. The other girl has autism but she is very sweet. And the boy is mute. He doesn't seem social at all and wouldn't take a step towards us, he seems tired and lonesome," Duff said to his band as they sat in the studio.

Axl shook his head. "Poor kids, did they tell you why the kid is mute?" the redhead asked. "Yes, he doesn't feel worthy of talking," Slash said. "I wonder if I could foster them," Axl said thoughtfully. "Are you sure you're ready?" Slash asked. "I'm fostering them not adopting them. Besides, I know many people who will be happy to take them," Axl said. "Alright, like I said they are great kids," Slash said. "Come on, Axe, we'll take you to them!"

LOGAN

"Oh, God! Give it to me, daddy! Fuck!" Screamed mom as she was filming a pornography video in her bedroom.

I had given Natalia headphones to keep her sensitive, innocent ears from hearing the disgust me and Natalia had been hearing since the crash.

I don't know if sex is mom's way of coping or if she had been doing this before dad died.

If she is using it to cope I hope I can get her alone and talk with her about treatment.

But I know that will only earn me a few bruises and cuts so best to leave her alone and keep my mouth shut.

I heard someone knocking on the door and figured it was some man trying to fuck my mom.

"Val! Door!" I called rising up from my bed.

Valery and I walked to the door and I opened it and protected my sister while she did all the talking.

Turns out it was Slash and some redhead. Must be his friend. They had troubled looks on their face and I dreaded what they'd have to say to the moaning upstairs.

"Hey, it's you!" Valery gasped happily.

"Yeah, um, where's Natalia?" Slash asked.

"Upstairs sleeping. She has earphones on, so she can't hear the.... You know... Problem," Valery said.

"Yeah, well, can you take you out for a ride. Maybe to get some food? And talk about something we want to do to help you?" Slash asked. "Sure, Logan, go get Natalia!" Valery said.

I ran to the room to grabbed Natalia and raced down the stairs.

"Let's go," Valery said. I nodded and we walked to the car.

Slash introduced the redhead as Axl and we were out on the road.

"Do you kids wanna leave?" Asked Axl.

"Yeah, we planned on running away when Jason got a car," Valery said.

"What if I fostered you?" Axl asked.

"You would do that?" Valery asked. "Of course!" Axl said. "So here what we're gonna do."

I drowned out Axl's plan to Valery and began thinking more of this.

If he fosters us, he won't be keeping us. He'll be giving us away in a few months. But I couldn't point that out nor did I care much if I was passed from home to home.

I just worried about my sister's and their life.

I sighed and leaned my head against the window and fell asleep.
