Fred's POV:
"The ball?" She asked and I nodded. "Of course I'll go with you!"

I smiled like a absolute idiot when I heard her reply. Her angelic voice gave me the best news possible, it's finally my chance to tell her how I feel.

I felt George elbow me, I looked over and saw he had a smile on his face and a thumbs up. I glanced at Harry, Ron and Hermione. Harry and Ron were open mouthed and staring at me with shock, so I threw them a cheeky wink before returning to my work. Well it was actually planning how to ask her out, and the plan is nearly done. Just a few things to perfect. But I was interrupted by Ron's and Hermione's conversation. Y/n stood just behind Ron, she was handing Professor Snape her work. In which he nodded stiffly. Y/n smiled at me widely before walking out of the hall and I turned back to the conversation.

"Well Hermione. Your a girl." Ron said cockily. He's screwed this up now.

"Oh well spotted." Hermione snapped. I didn't see this ending well for him.

"Come on. It's one thing for a bloke to show up alone. For a girl it's just sad." Ron said dancing his arms around, like how I asked Y/n. Probably wasn't the most romantic way, but it will do.

"I won't be going alone because believe it or not someone's asked me." Hermione whisper yelled before standing up and giving Snape her work. "And I said yes."

"Bloody hell." Ron muttered to Harry.

But then it struck me, what if Y/n already had a date but said yes to me to not humiliate me in front of everyone. Or what if she said yes as a prank and doesn't actually want to go with me. Is it because she doesn't want to seem rude to reject my offer in here. But she could actually mean it and would actually want to go with me. My mind is so conflicted and I don't know what to think. But I noticed George was saying something to me so I put the thought in the back of my head.

"How are you feeling Fred?" George asked with a smile.

"Over the moon! I'm so excited!" I said. Deciding to not tell him about what I was thinking. "Who are you gonna ask?"

"Umm probably Angelina." George replied. I smiled at his words.

We work for a while longer but I couldn't think straight. All I could think about was Y/n and how excited but nervous I was for the ball. But the thoughts of the idea that it might be a prank came back and fear flooded through my head again.

"Fred!" George said taking me out of the worry I was in. "Fred what's wrong?"

"I need to tell you something." I muttered.

"Okay. What is it?" George asked concerned.

"Not here. Can we go to our dorm?" I said.

"Of course. Let's go." George said. We passed Snape our work before walking out of the hall and up to the common room.

We walked into the common room and it was empty. No sign of Y/n or Hermione. But we went straight up to our dorm and I slumped on our bed and worried tears escaped my eyes.

"Fred what's wrong?" George asked sitting next to me.

I stayed silent for a while because I was scared to let it all spill. But I eventually muttered. "Y/n"

"What's up with Y/n?" George said.

"What if she actually doesn't want to go with me but was too polite to say so. What if she's pranking me for her wanting to go with me. Or what if she has a date and was about to tell me." I spilled, then noticed that the muggle song 'Line without a hook' was playing in the background. One of Y/n's favourites.
