•Y/n's POV•

The hour passed and it was time for detention, dread filled me as I walked the silent and solemn corridor, no ghosts in sight. The halls seems never ending and wide, once the usually busy and flooded corridors now seem abandoned and haunted as though Umbridge's rule has overtaken the school.

I entered the defence against the dark arts room, it was dark and empty, the benches tucked in neatly with a pile of books in the corner of the room and fresh quills and full pots of ink.

I climbed up the cold stone steps towards Umbridge's office, the door was still the same dark wood and the rusty metal knocker. I placed three loud knocks at the door and the screech came shortly after.

"Come in." Umbridge called. I opened the heavy door and crossed the threshold into her pink office, a singular table sat next to her desk.

I walked over and slumped into the seat of the desk, crossing my arms and looking at the Professor with loathing and hate. I now had a hour and a half until the transformation would begin, but fear was building that Umbridge would keep me longer than I'd like.

"Good Evening Professor." I grumpily said, having to hold back the urge to call her toad.

"Ahh Miss Lupin." She said, sounding sweet and excited to see me. But her voice went cold when the words "I see that you've sat already." came out of her mouth.

"I have, I haven't got much time." I replied, matching her cold and emotionless tone.

"I'm sure you can guess what you are doing tonight." Umbridge said, already placing a blood quill down on my desk with a wicked smile.

"Lines." I simply said.

"Exactly."

"And what do you want me to write?" I asked, twiddling the quill between my fingers

"Seeing as what you've told me in the lesson. You can write 'I am a monster'"

"WHAT!" I yelled

"If I were you Miss Lupin, I'd start now and stop complaining." Umbridge fakely smiled, looking down at her work.

I put my head down and started writing, ready to experience the pain my hand. Like usual, the first two lines seemed normal as though it was a normal quill. But the tingling returned to my hand when I started the third line.

This soon turned into a mild pain, I noticed the formation of the words 'I am a monster' begin to carve into my hand, above the scar from my previous detention mere days ago.

The mild pain began to increase and become more unbearable as the words carved themselves deeper and deeper into my hand, slowly becoming wider but still readable.

I sat in her office for an uncomfortably long time, keeping an eye on the time. 15 minutes until transformation begins. It takes at least 10 minutes to get down the shrieking shack.

"Ah I've seen you've stopped writing. Let me have a look." Umbridge said, pulling my hand away from the table to examine my hand carefully with close and beady eyes.

"So..." I said urgently, tapping my foot on the floor.

"It looks like you have to stay and continue." Umbridge wickedly said, placing my hand back down onto the table.

"No Professor I can't. I-I just can't." I said, rising from my chair.

"You will stay Miss Lupin!" She shrilled, taking a large step towards me.

"Unless you want to watch me transform and you could become someone like me." I said, turning on my heel and walking out of the door, leaving the toad in pink open mouthed and shocked in her office.
