I have been locked in the attic for an indeterminate amount of time. Minutes? Hours? I lost count a while ago, so imagine my relief when the door finally opens. The woman the twins greeted enters the room with a friendly smile and hands folded over one another. The twins gave her a name earlier, but I forgot. Was it Harmony? Song?

"I see that you've made yourself comfortable," The woman says. I glance away from the window and at her. I have been lounging in the chair, as there didn't seem to be any other slightly comfortable place in this wooden Hell. There aren't even any ways for me to unleash my creative spirit to pass the time.

"Oh- uh- yes. It's kinda nice up here. Could use some activities, though," I sit up, "So...I'm (Y/N), who're you?"

"Melody," Melody steps inside, "Soos is ordering pizza, I figured that I could invite you to have dinner with us. Get to know everybody a little bit better."

"Really?" I spring up to my feet, "I'd love that!"

Melody chuckles under her breath, "Come on, then. We're all eagerly waiting for you." Melody turns around and heads her way downstairs. I follow behind with a bounce in my step. We both make it to the kitchen where Dipper and Mabel sit. I join the twins at the dining table, only to meet with Dipper glaring at Melody.

"Hello again!" Mabel says, "We're glad you came down!"

I look at the bickering Melody and Dipper before asking "you sure?"

"Of course I'm sure, Silly!" Mabel declares, "It's been a long time since we bonded with new friends over pizza!" I glance at Melody and Dipper once more. Their argument seems to be resolved so I nod at Mabel.

Soos comes walking into the room moments after somebody knocks on the door. A stack of pizza boxes are in his arms. He sets the pizzas on the center of the table and divides them between pepperoni and cheese.

"Okay! Who wants to rock-paper-scissors for getting the first slice?" Mabel asks.

"How about we let our guest have the first slice?" Melody pipes up.

"Then we'll rock-paper-scissors for second slice!" Mabel declares. I shake my head as I stand up and go find the plates. Dipper stands up with me and heads on.

"Here, you wouldn't know the kitchen," Dipper says. The man goes ahead of me and opens a cabinet. He grabs a plastic plate and hands it to me.

"Oh- Thank you!" I take the plate and head back to the table. I open up the box of my preferred pizza and grab the slice. I watch the family gather together and play their game of rock-paper-scissors until everybody has their pizza. I finally take a bite. The cheese strings from my mouth as sauce drips out of the pie.

Everybody eats in silence. We grab a new piece each time we finish one until our bellies are full. Things are rather awkward, though. There's no Jonathon to keep the remote away from me and there's an apparent lack of Shorty to prank. The only good thing is that these adults are used to the weird and the disturbing.

"So..." I speak up, "Why is there a Minotaur working the gift shop?"

"Manotaur," Dipper corrects, "And Axetaur is the cultural ambassador for his fellow men. He was on register duty today."

"We searched far and wide to hire the local woodland residents to teach tourists about the unique set of cultures we have here," Soos says, "It fits Melody and me better than how Mr. Pines ran things." I look at Dipper as if Soos was referring to him.

"A different 'Mr. Pines,'" Dipper clarifies. I nod my head before returning my focus to pizza. I finish up the pizza and stand up. I pick up the plate and place it in the sink. I head back to the stairs.
